2016 Malabon Local Elections
Local elections were held in Malabon on May 9, 2016, within the Philippine general election. The voters elected for the elective local posts in the city: the mayor, vice mayor, the two Congressmen, and the twelve councilors for the city's two Sangguniang Panglungsod districts, six for each district. Antolin Oreta III
Antolin Aquino Oreta III (born September 16, 1971), better known as Lenlen Oreta, is a Filipino politician who has served as the Mayor of Malabon from 2012 to 2022 and formerly served as Vice Mayor from 2010 up until his appointment as mayor. He is the son of former Senator Tessie Aquino-Oreta. Background Oreta was born on September 16, 1971, as the second of the four children of businessman Antolin M. The legislative districts of Malabon are the representations of the highly urbanized city of Malabon in the Congress of the Philippines. The city is currently represented in the lower house of the Congress through its lone congressional district. Maria Teresa Aquino-Oreta (born Maria Teresa Aquino Aquino; June 28, 1944 – May 14, 2020), better known as Tessie Aquino-Oreta, was a Filipina politician. The Sangguniang Panlungsod (SP) is the local legislature, legislative body of a Philippine city, city governments in the Philippines.
