2016 Kuurne–Brussels–Kuurne
The 68th edition of the Kuurne–Brussels–Kuurne cycling classic was held on 28 February 2016. It was part of the 2016 UCI Europe Tour and ranked as a 1.HC event. It was the second and concluding race of the Belgian ''opening weekend'', the year's first road races in Northwestern Europe, one day after Omloop Het Nieuwsblad. Jasper Stuyven (born 17 April 1992) is a Belgian professional racing cyclist, who currently rides for UCI WorldTeam . Career Juniors Born in Leuven, Stuyven had a successful career as a junior rider. Oude Kwaremont
The Oude Kwaremont (English: ''Old Kwaremont'') is a road in Kluisbergen, a municipality in the Belgian province of East Flanders. The Oude Kwaremont, contrary to popular belief, is not the name of a hill, but the name of one of the cobbled roads leading up the Kluisberg hill. The Kluisberg is one of several hill formations in the Flemish Ardennes in the south of East-Flanders, close to the border with Wallonia. The climbing road is best known for its presence in many Flemish professional cycling races, such as the Tour of Flanders, E3 Harelbeke and Dwars door Vlaanderen. Characteristics The lower 600 m of the climb consist of a narrow asphalt road, the upper 1600 m are paved with cobblestones. The first 500 m of cobbled section are particularly difficult, it is the steepest and narrowest part of the climb with a bad, very uneven cobbled surface. Kruisberg
The Kruisberg, also known as Oude Kruisberg or Oude Kruisens, is a hill and road in the city of Ronse, in Flanders, Belgium. With its top at 122 m altitude, it is one of many hill formations in the Flemish Ardennes, in the south of East-Flanders. The road starts going gently uphill from the center of Ronse. The upper and steepest part of the climb consists of 450 m of cobbled surface. Kruisberg is the unofficial name of the ''Oudestraat'' and ''Oude Kruisens'' roads, which run parallel to Ronse's actual Kruisberg, a broad concrete road. Hence the climb is frequently referred to as ''Oude Kruisberg''. In Flemish media the climb is often erroneously called ''Oude Kruiskens'' – with k. Kanarieberg (English: ''Canary Hill'') is the name of a road and hill in the municipality of Ronse, in the Belgian province of East Flanders. With its top at 131 m, it is the one of the many hills in the Flemish Ardennes, located in the heart of the hill region. The road of the Kanarieberg starts gently before steadily getting steeper as it winds its way through the fields outside Ronse's city center. It is surfaced in smooth asphalt; its steepest point is 14%. The top of the Kanarieberg is in the Muziekbos (English: ''Music Forest''). Kuurne
Kuurne () is a municipality located in the Belgian province of West Flanders. The municipality comprises only the town of Kuurne proper. On January 1, 2006, Kuurne had a total population of 12,591. The total area is 10.01 km² which gives a population density of 1258 inhabitants per km². The Leie functions as a natural border between Kuurne and Harelbeke. Inhabitants from Kuurne are nicknamed 'donkeys'. This is said to be a term of derision given to them by the people of nearby Kortrijk because traders from Kuurne habitually set off for the Kortrijk market at an early hour, their ass-drawn carts laden with vegetables.
