The 2016 Japanese Super Cup was held on 20 February 2016 between the 2015 J.League champions Sanfrecce Hiroshima Sanfrecce Hiroshima ( ja, サンフレッチェ広島, translit=''Sanfuretche Hiroshima'') is a Japanese professional football club based in Asaminami-ku, Hiroshima. The club plays in the J1 League, which is the top tier of football in the coun ... and the 2015 Emperor's Cup winners Gamba Osaka. Between them these two sides had won the Super Cup for the past 3 seasons and in this match it was Sanfrecce who triumphed 3–1 to lift the title for the fourth time in their history following successes in 2008, 2013 and 2014. For Gamba, this game marked their fourth loss in six Super Cup appearances, with wins in 2007 and 2015 being offset by defeats in 2006, 2009, 2010 and now this year. Sanfrecce Hiroshima ( ja, サンフレッチェ広島, translit=''Sanfuretche Hiroshima'') is a Japanese professional football club based in Asaminami-ku, Hiroshima. Takuto Hayashi
is a Japanese football player who plays for Sanfrecce Hiroshima. Playing career Hayashi was born in Ibaraki on 9 August 1982. After graduating from high school, he joined J1 League club Sanfrecce Hiroshima in 2001. However he could hardly play in the match behind Takashi Shimoda. In 2005, he moved to J2 League club Consadole Sapporo. He became a regular goalkeeper in May 2005. Although he played as regular goalkeeper in 2006 season too, he lost his position in October. In 2007, he could not play at all in the match behind Takahiro Takagi. In June 2007, he moved to J2 club Vegalta Sendai and became a regular goalkeeper soon. Kazuya Miyahara
is a Japanese footballer who plays as a defensive midfielder for club Tokyo Verdy. Club career On 26 December 2016, Miyahara joined Nagoya Grampus on a season-long loan deal, extended his loan deal with Nagoya Grampus 30 December 2017 for an additional year. Hiroki Mizumoto
is a Japanese football player who plays for SC Sagamihara. Club career Mizumoto was born in Ise. After graduating from Mie High School, he joined J1 League side JEF United Ichihara (later ''JEF United Chiba''). His first appearance in J1 League came on 20 May 2004 against Oita Trinita.
