2016 Iraq FA Cup Final
The 2016 Iraq FA Cup Final was the 25th final of the Iraq FA Cup as a clubs-only competition. The match was contested between the Baghdad rivals, Al-Zawraa and Al-Quwa Al-Jawiya, at Al-Shaab Stadium in Baghdad. It was played on 29 May 2016 to be the final match of the competition. Al-Quwa Al-Jawiya made their 7th appearance in the Iraq FA Cup final while Al-Zawraa extended their record to 16 final appearances. Al-Quwa Al-Jawiya won the match 2–0 with goals from Bashar Rasan and Humam Tariq, for the club's 4th title. The winners of the cup, Al-Quwa Al-Jawiya, qualified for the 2017 AFC Cup. Al-Quwa Al-Jawiya were also set to face the winners of the league, Al-Zawraa, in the 2016 Iraqi Super Cup, but it was eventually cancelled. Al-Shaab International Stadium ( ar, ملعب الشعب الدولي, lit=The People's Stadium) is an all-seater multi-purpose stadium in Baghdad, Iraq. Iraq Division One
The Iraq Division One is the second-highest division of the Iraqi football league system after the Premier League. The league is contested by 24 clubs. It is operated by the Iraq Football Association (IFA). Each season, the two top-finishing teams in the Division One are automatically promoted to the Premier League. The four lowest-finishing teams in the Division One are relegated to Division Two. The number of clubs in the league have changed throughout history, most recently in the 2021–22 season when the number of clubs decreased from 28 to 24. The away goals rule is a method of tiebreaker, tiebreaking in association football and other sports when teams play each other twice, once at each team's home ground. Naft Al-Basra SC ( ar, نادي نفط البصرة الرياضي, lit=''Basra Oil Sport Club'') is a football club based in Al-Tamimia District, Basra, Iraq, that plays in Iraqi Premier League. Al-Karkh Sports Club ( ar, نادي الكرخ الرياضي) is an Iraqi sports club based in Karkh, Baghdad. Its professional football team plays in the Iraqi Premier League, the top tier of the Iraqi football. The club's home stadium is Al-Saher Ahmed Radhi Stadium. Al-Hussein ( ar, نادي الحسين), is an Iraqi football club based in Baghdad. They were crowned champions of the 2015–16 Iraq Division One which promoted them to the Iraqi Premier League for the first time in their history. In sports (particularly association football), a two-legged tie is a contest between two teams which comprises two matches or "legs", with each team as the home team in one leg. The winning team is usually determined by aggregate score, the sum of the scores of the two legs.
