2016 IPro Sport Cup
The 2016 League 1 Cup known as the 2016 iPro Sport cup for sponsorship reasons is the second playing of the competition, first played in 2015. The competition is for the rugby league clubs in the British League 1 - the third tier of rugby league in Britain. As there are 15 teams in League 1 but French club Toulouse Olympique declined to enter the tournament, two amateur teams were invited into the competition to bring the numbers to 16. In 2016 these clubs were Wath Brow Hornets and Leigh Miners Rangers. Teams First round The first round draw of the 2016 iPro Sport Cup was broadcast live on BBC Radio Newcastle on Thursday November 26 from 6.45pm. White Hart Lane Community Sports Centre, also known as the New River Stadium is a rugby league and athletics stadium in Wood Green, Haringey, north London, England that is home to London Skolars rugby league club, Enfield and Haringey Athletic Club, Wood Green Weightlifting Club, Park View F.C., Haringey Rhinos rugby union club and Haringey Cycling Club. Craven Park is a rugby league stadium in Barrow-in-Furness, Cumbria, England. It is the home of Barrow Raiders rugby league team. Kingston Park is a multi-purpose stadium in Kingston Park, Newcastle upon Tyne, England. Cleator Moor is a town and civil parish in Cumbria, England, within the historic county of Cumberland. It had a population of 6,936 at the 2011 census. John Anderson (footballer, Born 1959)
John Christopher Patrick Anderson (born 7 November 1959) is a former professional footballer who played as a defender. He represented the Republic of Ireland, and played for club sides West Bromwich Albion, Preston North End and Newcastle United. Club career Anderson was on the books of West Bromwich Albion between 1976 and 1979. Despite playing in 92 reserve team games for the club, he never made a single first team appearance for the club in a major competition. Anderson signed for Newcastle United in 1982 on a free transfer from Preston North End. His signing was low key because the club had recently pulled off a major coup in signing England captain Kevin Keegan.
