Houston Dash
The Houston Dash is a professional women's soccer team based in Houston, Texas. It joined the National Women's Soccer League (NWSL) in the 2014 season, and is affiliated with the MLS team Houston Dynamo FC. History Establishment On November 19, 2013, the Houston Dynamo began talks in the initial stages with the intention of bringing a top flight women's professional soccer franchise to Houston. Just a week later, the effort was bolstered when the Dynamo began accepting refundable deposits for a potential NWSL expansion team. On December 11, 2013, the National Women's Soccer League awarded the Houston Dynamo and the city of Houston an expansion franchise. Poliana Barbosa Medeiros (born 6 February 1991), known as Poliana, is a Brazilian football defender who plays for Campeonato Brasileiro de Futebol Feminino side São José and the Brazil women's national football team. Club career Poliana signed for Santos in 2009 after a successful trial period. After moving on to São José, Poliana won the Copa Libertadores Femenina three times in 2011, 2013 and 2014. Melissa Suzanne Keeling (; born August 23, 1989) is an American retired soccer forward who last played as a midfielder with the Houston Dash. Early life Born in Dallas to Kelly and Kathy Henderson, Melissa grew up in Garland, Texas, and attended and played for Berkner High School in Richardson, Texas, where she received several honors and awards during her time. Henderson played three seasons for the varsity soccer squad and set school records with 66 goals and was second overall in assists with 45 (overall 177 points) in 47 career matches. Allysha Lyn Chapman (born January 25, 1989) is a Canadian professional soccer player who plays as a left-back for National Women's Soccer League club Houston Dash and the Canada national team. Denise O'Sullivan (born 4 February 1994) is an Irish professional footballer who plays as a midfielder for the American club North Carolina Courage of the National Women's Soccer League (NWSL) and the Republic of Ireland national team which she has represented 80 times. Amber Jean Brooks (born January 23, 1991) is an American professional soccer player who plays as a defender for Washington Spirit in the National Women's Soccer League (NWSL).
