2016 GT Asia Series
The 2016 GT Asia Series was the seventh season of the GT Asia Series championship. It began on 14 May at the Korea International Circuit and ended at Shanghai International Circuit on 19-20 October, 2016 after 12 championship rounds. Entry list Race calendar and results The full calendar for the 2016 season was released on 12 January 2016. The series will consist of 12 championship rounds held in pairs on six circuits across Korea, Thailand, Japan and China. The 3-hour race at Sepang International Circuit will be discontinued after teams voted against it. Also, the non-championship round at the Circuito da Guia in Macau does not feature in the calendar, now the main event of the FIA GT World Cup. The championship would have concluded at the new Zhejiang International Circuit, but delays in the final stages of construction had seen Motorsport Asia Limited make alternate plans. GT Asia Series
The GT Asia Series was a sports car racing series based in Asia. The championship combines Group GT3, FIA GT3 specification cars as the elite class of the series with Ferrari Challenge, Porsche Cup and older GT3 machinery competing in the GTM class. The series had its first season in 2010 with a dozen GT3 cars and has since expanded with grid sizes of 26 or more cars and a 13-round calendar visiting tracks in China, Malaysia, Japan and Thailand. The Series is organized by the Asian Festival of Speed (AFOS) and sanctioned by the FIA. In October 2016, the GT Asia Series announced a partnership with the Asian Le Mans Series. It includes a new Michelin Asia GT Challenge, which is a combined classification for GT3 teams, where the winner will get an invitation to the 24 Hours of Le Mans. Ferrari 458
The Ferrari 458 Italia (Type F142) is a mid-engine sports car produced by Ferrari. The F458 is the successor of the F430, and was first officially unveiled at the 2009 Frankfurt Motor Show. It was succeeded by the 488 GTB (Gran Turismo Berlinetta), which was unveiled at the 2015 Geneva Motor Show. It was made by hand at Ferrari headquarters in Marranelo, Italy. The Mercedes-AMG GT (C190 / R190) is a grand tourer produced in coupé and roadster bodystyles by German automobile manufacturer Mercedes-AMG. The car was introduced on and was officially unveiled to the public in October 2014 at the Paris Motor Show. After the SLS AMG, it is the second sports car developed entirely in-house by Mercedes-AMG. The Mercedes-AMG GT went on sale in two variants (GT and GT S) in March 2015, while a GT3 racing variant of the car was introduced in 2015. Armaan Ebrahim (born 17 May 1989) is a car racer from Chennai, India. He is the son of the ex-Indian F3 champion Akbar Ebrahim. Career Ebrahim started his career in karting and became Formula LGB Champion in 2004. He later moved to Formula BMW Asia for the 2005 season. During the same year he represented A1 Team India in the A1 Grand Prix Championship, driving in 6 races, before the team was disbanded due to lack of funds. He again drove for A1 Team India Part Season in the 2006–07 A1 Grand Prix season. In 2007 he also drove in Formula V6 Asia where he captured five race wins and finished second in points. Career Karting Liberati began karting in 2006 in the Italian 100 Junior Championship, finishing as runner–up in the series the following year. Richard Antinucci (born January 26, 1981) is an American race car driver. Career In 1998 he competed in Italian Formula Ford, moving to the British Formula Renault Winter Series in 1999 and to Formula Renault 2000 Eurocup in 2000, where he stayed for one season (although he drove two fill-in races in 2001). In a bad-tempered 2002 season, he moved to the Manor Motorsport team in British Formula 3, leaving them in 2003 for the Carlin team in the same series. Mid-season he changed to the rival Promatecme team, although he did not stay there long as he moved to Japanese Formula Three for the 2004 season.
