2016 French Road Cycling Cup
The 2016 French Road Cycling Cup was the 25th edition of the French Road Cycling Cup. It was the first edition in which all riders are eligible to score points, whereas in previous seasons only French riders or riders part of French teams were eligible. The team classification however remained a contest between the French teams only. Compared to the previous season, the same 16 events were part of the cup. The defending champion from the last season was Nacer Bouhanni. The series turned out to be a close fight between two times winner Samuel Dumoulin and Belgian sprinter Baptiste Planckaert, with both riders separated by just one point before the final race. French Road Cycling Cup
The French Road Cycling Cup (English for Coupe de France de cyclisme sur route) is a road bicycle racing competition under the Fédération Francaise de Cyclisme (French Cycling Federation) each year since 1992. It consists of a number of one-day races in France each year. Each of these races is open for all riders, but until 2015 only French riders and riders who were part of a French team were able to score points for the French Road Cycling Cup. As of 2016, all riders score points. The team competition remains a contest between the French teams only. Points system For the individual rankings, points are awarded to all eligible riders each race according to the following table: Each race, the positions of the first three riders of each French team are added to give the team position. Tro-Bro Léon ( en, Tour of Léon, french: Tour du Léon) is a professional cycle road race held in Finistère, Brittany. The event was first run in 1984 as an amateur race before becoming a professional race since 2000. The race was established in 2005 as a 1.1 event on the UCI Europe Tour. Thibaut Pinot (born 29 May 1990) is a French professional road bicycle racer, who rides for UCI WorldTeam . Once considered one of the most promising talents in French cycling, he finished third overall in the 2014 Tour de France and first in the young rider classification. He has won stages in all three Grand Tours, with 3 in the Tour de France, 1 in the Giro d'Italia and 2 in the Vuelta a España.
