2016 FIM CEV Moto3 Junior World Championship
The 2016 FIM CEV Moto3 Junior World Championship was the fifth CEV Moto3 season and the third under the FIM banner. The season was held over 12 races at 8 meetings, beginning on 17 April at Valencia and finishing on 20 November at the same venue. Karel Hanika
Karel Hanika (born 14 April 1996) is a motorcycle racer from the Czech Republic. He is the 2013 Red Bull MotoGP Rookies Cup champion and the 2013 European Moto3 champion. He currently competes in the Alpe Adria International Road Race Superbike Championship, aboard a BMW S1000RR. In 2014 and 2015, Hanika raced for the Ajo Motorsport team in the Moto3 world championship. After two crash-filled seasons, he was dropped by Ajo and switched to Mahindra for the 2016 campaign. However, after failing to score a single point in seven races he was fired mid-season and replaced by Moto3 returnee Danny Webb. Álex Rins
Álex Rins Navarro (born 8 December 1995) is a Spanish Grand Prix motorcycle racer for the LCR Honda Castrol in the MotoGP class. He was the 2011 CEV Buckler 125 Junior GP Champion, and made his Grand Prix motorcycle racing debut in the Moto3 World Championship during the season. Career Moto3 World Championship Born in Barcelona, Rins began his career in Moto3 with the Estrella Galicia 0,0 team. In his second meeting, Rins took pole position for the Spanish Grand Prix. He took his first podium in France, with third place. He scored no further podiums, but was very consistent throughout the remainder of the season, regularly finishing in the top ten. Emilio Alzamora Escardibul (born May 22, 1973 in Lleida, Spain) is a former Grand Prix motorcycle road racer. He was the 1999 F.I.M. 125cc world champion. He is the second rider to win a Grand Prix motorcycle world championship without having won a race. Alzamora got his start racing in the 80cc class, winning the 1989 80cc championship of Catalunya at the age of 16. In 1994, he made his Grand Prix debut in the 125 class as a member of former world champion Paolo Pileri's team. He moved up to the 250 class in 1997, but after a season marred by injuries, he returned to the 125 class. Alzamora won the 1999 125cc world championship without winning a race by virtue of 10 podium positions, defeating Marco Melandri and Masao Azuma who each had five victories.
