2016 FIBA European Championship For Small Countries
The 2016 FIBA European Championship for Small Countries was the 15th edition of this tournament. It was hosted by Moldova. Armenia won its first ever gold in this championship by beating Andorra in the final, 79–71. Teams After the withdrawal of Monaco, which was initially drawn in the Group B, eight countries joined the tournament: The national team of Armenia made their official debut in a FIBA competition. Ciorescu, formerly known as ''Cricova Nouǎ'' (Romanian; russian: Новое Криково, ''Novoye Krikovo''), is a commune in Moldova, located in the north-east of Chişinău, the capital of Moldova. Basketball In Moldova
Basketball is a team sport in which two teams, most commonly of five players each, opposing one another on a rectangular court, compete with the primary objective of shooting a basketball (approximately in diameter) through the defender's hoop (a basket in diameter mounted high to a backboard at each end of the court, while preventing the opposing team from shooting through their own hoop. A field goal is worth two points, unless made from behind the three-point line, when it is worth three. After a foul, timed play stops and the player fouled or designated to shoot a technical foul is given one, two or three one-point free throws. Bryant Dunston
Bryant Kevin Dunston Jr. (; born May 28, 1986) is an American-born naturalized Armenian professional basketball player who plays at the center position for Anadolu Efes of the Turkish Basketball Super League (BSL) and the EuroLeague. He also represents the senior Armenian national team internationally. Standing at a height of , he won the EuroLeague Best Defender award twice, and reached the EuroLeague Final in 2015, while playing with Olympiacos. In 2011–12, he was the top rebounder in the Israel Basketball Premier League. Dunston earned an All-EuroLeague Second Team selection in 2017. Colin O'Reilly
Colin O'Reilly (born 30 January 1984) is an Irish basketball coach and former player. He played Division III college basketball for Post University in the United States in the early 2000s and later represented the Irish national team as both a player and as a player-coach. Professional career On 26 March 2015, O'Reilly was named an inaugural Premier League All-Star First Pick alongside UCC Demons teammates Kyle Hosford and Lehmon Colbert. Three days later, he helped Demons create Irish basketball history by winning the Champions Trophy and adding to their undefeated 2014–15 season. Andorra National Basketball Team
The Andorra national basketball team is the national team of Andorra. The national team has always represented in the EuroBasket Division C. It also takes part well in Games of the Small States of Europe. History Despite not joining FIBA until 1988, Andorra made its debut in the 1985 Games of the Small States of Europe where, after winning their first game ever against Luxembourg, finished in the last position after losing to Cyprus and Malta. Andorra would come back to competition in 1989, where it achieved its first great success by winning the tournament at the 1989 Games of the Small States of Europe, played in Cyprus after beating the home team in the final by 54–52.
