2016 FC Tobol Season
The 2016 FC Tobol season is the 18th successive season that the club playing in the Kazakhstan Premier League, the highest tier of association football in Kazakhstan. Tobol finished the season 7th, top of the Relegation group, whilst the wear knocked out of the Kazakhstan Cup by Kyzylzhar at the last 16 stage. Season events Following a surprise defeat to Kyzylzhar in the Kazakhstan Cup, manager Dmitriy Ogai left the club by mutual consent. On 30 April, Oleg Lotov was appointed as interim manager, before Omari Tetradze was appointed as the club's full-time manager on 30 May 2016. FC Tobol
FC Tobol ( kk, Тобыл футбол клубы, Tobyl Futbol Kluby) is a Kazakh professional football club based at the Central Stadium in Kostanay. They have been members of the Kazakhstan Premier League since its foundation in 1992. They won the Kazakhstan Premier League in 2010, and finished no lower than fourth place between the 2002 and 2010 seasons. In 2021 they won the title for the second time. History Following a surprise defeat to Kyzylzhar in the 2016 Kazakhstan Cup, manager Dmitriy Ogai left the club by mutual consent, with Oleg Lotov being appointed as interim manager on 30 April 2016. Lotov was replaced with Omari Tetradze as the club's manager on 30 May 2016. Prior to the start of the season, Vladimir Nikitenko was appointed as Tobol's manager following the expiration of Robert Yevdokimov's contract. Aleksandr Anatolyevich Petukhov (russian: Александр Анато́льевич Петухов; born 11 January 1985) is a Kazakh professional footballer who plays as a goalkeeper, most recently for FC Tobol. Career Born in Dzhezkazgan (now Jezkazgan), Petukhov began playing football with local side FC Atyrau. In 2003, he moved to Russia where he signed for FC Rubin Kazan. He played for Rubin's reserve and second teams from 2003 to 2006, including a brief stint as a left-back in 2004. After returning from Russia, Petukhov joined Tobol where he has been the club's starting goalkeeper. Ciprian Ioan Deac (; born 16 February 1986) is a Romanian professional footballer who plays as a winger or an attacking midfielder for Liga I club CFR Cluj. After starting out at Unirea Dej, he spent most of his professional career at CFR Cluj, where he won thirteen domestic trophies.
