2016 Esso Cup
The 2016 Esso Cup was Canada's eighth national women's midget hockey championship, contested April 17–23, 2016 at Weyburn, Saskatchewan. The Brantford Ice Cats from Ontario captured the national championship with a 10-3 victory over Québec's Express du Richelieu in the gold medal game. The Rocky Mountain Raiders of Alberta won the bronze medal game. The British Columbia Female Midget AAA Hockey League (BCFMAAA) is the highest-level provincial women's minor ice hockey league in British Columbia, Canada. It is run by the British Columbia Amateur Hockey Association (BC Hockey), a member of Hockey Canada and the regional governing body of ice hockey in British Columbia. It is designated as an 'AAA' league – the highest level of minor hockey in Canada – and operates under the supervision of Hockey Manitoba. The Saskatchewan Female U18 AAA Hockey League (SFU18AAAHL), formerly the Saskatchewan Female Midget AAA Hockey League, is a U-18 ice hockey league in the province of Saskatchewan, Canada. Shoal Lake is a locality in the southwest of Manitoba, Canada. Originally incorporated as a town, Shoal Lake amalgamated with the Rural Municipality of Shoal Lake on January 1, 2011 to form the Municipality of Shoal Lake, which became the Rural Municipality of Yellowhead on January 1, 2015.
