The 2016 Empire Slovak Open was a professional tennis tournament played on outdoor clay courts. It was the eighth edition of the tournament and part of the 2016 ITF Women's Circuit, offering a total of $100,000 in prize money. It took place in Trnava, Slovakia, on 9–15 May 2016. ITF Women's Circuit
The ITF Women's World Tennis Tour, previously known as the ITF Women's Circuit, is a series of professional tennis tournaments run by the International Tennis Federation for female professional tennis players. History It serves as a developmental circuit for the WTA Tour, which is run by the independent Women's Tennis Association (WTA). There are several hundred ITF Women's Circuit tournaments each year, spread across all six inhabited continents, with prize money ranging from US$15,000 to US$100,000. Players who succeed on the ITF Women's Circuit earn sufficient points to be eligible for qualifying draw or main draw entry to WTA tournaments. Until 2011 the ITF Women's Circuit was the level immediately below the main WTA Tour, but in 2012 the WTA introduced an intermediate level, the WTA 125K series. Stefanie Vögele (born 10 March 1990) is a former professional Swiss tennis player. She achieved a career-high singles ranking of world No. 42 on 11 November 2013. Yuliya Markovna Beygelzimer ( ua, Юлія Марківна Бейгельзимер; born 20 October 1983) is a retired tennis player from Ukraine. Career She is perhaps best known for nearly defeating Jennifer Capriati at the 2004 French Open where she was down three games to love in the second set but then swept nine of ten games. Viktoriya Konstantinova Tomova ( bg, Виктория Константинова Томова, born 25 February 1995) is a professional Bulgarian tennis player.
