2016 Critérium International
The 2016 Critérium International was the 85th edition of the Critérium International cycling race stage, stage race. It took place on the island of Corsica, around the city of Porto Vecchio. As the previous three editions, the race consisted of three stages, two on the first race day (including a short individual time trial) and one on the second day. Thibaut Pinot of won the race and two stages, including his first ever win in an individual time trial. The race was overshadowed by the death of Belgian cyclist Daan Myngheer (), who suffered a heart attack during the opening stage of the race and was taken to hospital, where he died. 2016 UCI Europe Tour
The 2016 UCI Europe Tour was the twelfth season of the UCI Europe Tour. The 2016 season began on 28 January 2016 with the Vuelta a Mallorca, Trofeo Santanyí-Ses Salines-Campos and ended on 23 October 2016 with the Chrono des Nations. French rider Nacer Bouhanni (), who scored 721 points in the 2015 UCI Europe Tour, 2015 edition, was the defending champion of the 2015 UCI Europe Tour. Throughout the season, points were awarded to the top finishers of stages within stage races and the final general classification standings of each of the stages races and one-day events. The quality and complexity of a race also determined how many points were awarded to the top finishers; the higher the UCI rating of a race, the more points were awarded. Lilian Calmejane (born 6 December 1992) is a French cyclist, who currently rides for UCI WorldTeam . He is best known for winning stages at the Tour de France in 2017 and the Vuelta a España in 2016. Ramūnas Navardauskas (born 30 January 1988) is a Lithuanian professional road racing cyclist, who rides for UCI Continental team . He has also competed professionally for the , and teams. Romain Feillu
Romain Feillu (born 16 April 1984) is a French former road racing cyclist, who rode professionally between 2006 and 2019. He is the older brother of Brice Feillu, who also competed professionally as a cyclist. Career Feillu was born in Châteaudun, Eure-et-Loir. In August 2005, Feillu joined as a trainee ( stagiaire) and impressed his team managers, resulting in a professional contract. During the 2006 season he won the Grand Prix Tours as well as the overall rankings of the Tour de la Somme. In 2007 he won a stage in the Tour de Luxembourg and the Circuit de l'Aulne.
