2016 Canberra Raiders Season
The 2016 Canberra Raiders season is the 35th in the club's history. Coached by Ricky Stuart and captained by Jarrod Croker, the Raiders are currently competing in the NRL's 2016 Telstra Premiership. They also competed in the 2016 NRL Auckland Nines pre-season tournament. Squad Player transfers A † denotes that the transfer occurred during the 2016 season. 2016 NRL Season
The 2016 NRL season was the 109th season of professional rugby league in Australia and the 19th season run by the National Rugby League. The season started in New Zealand with the annual Auckland Nines, and was followed by the All Stars Match, which was played at Suncorp Stadium in Brisbane, and the World Club Series. The season concluded on October 2 with the Cronulla-Sutherland Sharks winning their first ever premiership after 50 seasons, having entered the competition in 1967. The season was also noteworthy as it was the first time that all three Queensland based teams made the finals. Teams The lineup of teams remained unchanged for the 10th consecutive year. Shaun Fensom (born 10 October 1988) is an Australian former professional rugby league footballer who played as a and forward in the 2000s and 2010s. He played for the Canberra Raiders, North Queensland Cowboys and the Brisbane Broncos in the NRL. Benkato "Kato" Ottio (20 March 1994 – 9 January 2018) was a Papua New Guinean rugby league footballer. Primarily playing as a , Ottio represented Papua New Guinea, most notably at the 2017 World Cup.
