2016 Boys' Youth NORCECA Volleyball Championship
The 2016 Boys' Youth NORCECA Volleyball Championship is the tenth edition of the bi-annual volleyball tournament. It will be held in La Habana, Cuba from 24 June to 29 June. Eight countries will be competing in the tournament. Volleyball is a team sport in which two teams of six players are separated by a net. Each team tries to score points by grounding a ball on the other team's court under organized rules. It has been a part of the official program of the Summer Olympic Games since Tokyo 1964. Beach volleyball was introduced to the programme at the Atlanta 1996. The adapted version of volleyball at the Summer Paralympic Games is sitting volleyball. The complete set of rules is extensive, but play essentially proceeds as follows: a player on one of the teams begins a 'rally' by serving the ball (tossing or releasing it and then hitting it with a hand or arm), from behind the back boundary line of the court, over the net, and into the receiving team's court. 2017 FIVB Volleyball Boys' U19 World Championship
The 2017 FIVB Volleyball Boys' U19 World Championship was the fifteenth edition of the FIVB Volleyball Boys' U19 World Championship, contested by the men's national teams under the age of 19 of the members of the FIVB, the sport's global governing body. The tournament was held in Riffa, Bahrain from 18 to 27 August 2017. 20 teams from the 5 confederations competed in the tournament. Players must be born on or after 1 January 1999. Iran won its second title in the competition, defeating Russia in the final. Japan defeated South Korea for the bronze medal. Amirhossein Esfandiar from Iran was elected the MVP. Men's NORCECA Volleyball Championship
The NORCECA Men's Volleyball Championship is the official competition for senior men's national volleyball teams of North America, Central America and the Caribbean, organized by the North, Central America and Caribbean Volleyball Confederation (NORCECA). Since its introduction in 1969 the tournaments have been awarded every two years.
