2016 BYU Cougars Women's Volleyball Team
The 2016 BYU Cougars women's volleyball team represented Brigham Young University in the 2016 NCAA Division I women's volleyball season. The Cougars are led by second year head coach Heather Olmstead and play their home games at the Smith Fieldhouse. The Cougars are members of the WCC. BYU comes off a season where they won the WCC regular season championship and once again participated in the NCAA tournament. Heather Olmstead
Heather Olmstead is an American volleyball head coach for the BYU Cougars women's volleyball team. In 2018, she was named the American Volleyball Coaches Association Coach of the Year. She also served as head coach of the U.S. Collegiate National Team in Japan and as the assistant coach at the 2015 Pan American Games. Her brother, Shawn Olmstead, coaches the BYU Cougars men's volleyball team. Personal life Olmstead is one of seven children born to parents Rick and Trudy Olmstead. Her twin sister Nicole was also an athlete in high school. Olmstead is a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Career High school Olmstead attended Carpinteria High School for four years. She was a starter on the school's volleyball team her entire high school career and earned team MVP in 1997. San Francisco Dons
The San Francisco Dons is the nickname of the athletic teams at the University of San Francisco (USF). The Dons compete in NCAA Division I of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) as members of the West Coast Conference (WCC), of which USF is a charter member. The Santa Clara Broncos are athletic teams that represent Santa Clara University. The school colors are red and white. UNLV Rebels
The UNLV Rebels are the intercollegiate athletics teams that represent the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV). The Rebels compete in the NCAA Division I (Football Bowl Subdivision for college football) as a member of the Mountain West Conference. The school's colors are scarlet and gray. It was founded in 1958 for basketball in Paradise, Nevada. It did not have a nickname for Nevada Southern at the time from 1958 to 1968. Cal State Northridge Matadors
The Cal State Northridge Matadors (branded as the CSUN Matadors) are the athletic teams that represent California State University, Northridge in Northridge, Los Angeles, California. The Matadors field 17 teams in nineteen sports. The Matadors compete in NCAA Division I and are members of the Big West Conference. CSUN has been a member of the Big West Conference since the summer of 2001 for most sports. The Utah Utes are the intercollegiate athletics teams that represent the University of Utah, located in Salt Lake City. The athletic department is named after the Ute tribe of Native Americans. The Idaho State Bengals are the varsity intercollegiate athletic teams representing Idaho State University, located in Pocatello, Idaho.
