2016 BYU Cougars Softball Team
The 2016 BYU Cougars softball team represents Brigham Young University in the 2016 NCAA Division I softball season. Gordon Eakin entered the year as head coach of the Cougars for a 14th consecutive season. 2016 is the third season for the Cougars as members of the WCC in softball. Gordon Eakin
Gordon Eakin is an American college softball coach and the current head coach of the BYU Cougars softball team. Eakin is a graduate of the University of Utah and is a former Major League Baseball player for the Oakland Athletics The Oakland Athletics (often referred to as the A's) are an American professional baseball team based in Oakland, California. Boise State Broncos
The Boise State Broncos are the intercollegiate athletic teams that represent Boise State University, located in Boise, Idaho. The Broncos compete at the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division I level as a member of the Mountain West Conference (MW). UTEP Miners
The UTEP Miners is the name given to the sports teams of the University of Texas at El Paso (UTEP). They are informally referred to as the Miners, UTEP, or Texas–El Paso. UTEP was a member of the Western Athletic Conference from 1967 to 2005, when they joined Rice, Tulsa, and SMU in leaving the WAC for Conference USA. Hillenbrand Stadium
Mike Candrea Field at Rita Hillenbrand Memorial Stadium is the softball stadium for the University of Arizona. The stadium is on-campus and can seat 2,956 people. Hillenbrand Stadium, as it is more commonly known, was completed in 1993 and is named for the sister of the late William G. Hillenbrand (the Hillenbrand family have been long time Arizona benefactors). With the continued success of the Arizona softball team, which has won eight national championships, thanks to Mike Candrea, remains one of the premier venues in college softball. The Wildcats led the NCAA in attendance from 2000–02, and from 2006–08. Cathedral City, colloquially known as "Cat City", is a desert resort city in Riverside County, California, United States, within the Colorado Desert's Coachella Valley.
