2016 American Society Of Cinematographers Awards
The 31st American Society of Cinematographers Awards were held on February 4, 2017, at the Hollywood & Highland Ray Dolby Ballroom, honoring the best cinematographers of film and television in 2016. The television nominees were announced on December 6, 2016, while the film nominees were announced on January 11, 2017. The usual "Regular Series" category was separated into two categories this year—"Regular Series for Non-Commercial Television" and "Regular Series for Commercial Television". The Century Plaza Hotel
The Fairmont Century Plaza is a landmark 19-story luxury hotel in Los Angeles. Located in Century City, the hotel forms a sweeping crescent design fronting the Avenue of the Stars, adjacent to the twin Century Plaza Towers and the 2000 Avenue of the Stars complex. At the time of its opening in 1966, the Century Plaza Hotel was the highest building in Century City, with views extending all the way to the Pacific Ocean. It was also the first hotel to have color televisions in all of its rooms. The hotel closed for renovations in 2016, and reopened on September 27, 2021. It is now operated by Fairmont Hotels and Resorts, and it is a member of Historic Hotels of America. Lol Crawley
Laurie "Lol" Crawley (born in Shrewsbury, Shropshire), is an English cinematographer. His works include ''Ballast'', ''Four Lions'', and ''The Crimson Petal and the White (TV miniseries), The Crimson Petal and the White''. In 2013, Crawley shot ''Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom'', which was shown at the Toronto International Film Festival and has attracted critical attention for its cinematography. Crawley has been inducted into the British Society of Cinematographers. He has been awarded two cinematography awards at film festivals, and also has been nominated for a 2014 Film Independent Spirit Award.
