2016 Africa T20 Cup
The 2016 Africa T20 Cup was the second edition of the Africa T20 Cup, a Twenty20 cricket tournament that was held in South Africa from 2 September to 1 October 2016, as a curtain-raiser to the 2016–17 South African domestic season. Organised by Cricket South Africa, it featured thirteen South African provincial teams, as well as the national sides of Kenya national cricket team, Kenya, Namibia national cricket team, Namibia and Zimbabwe national cricket team, Zimbabwe. The sixteen participating teams were split into four pools of four, with the teams from each pool playing all of their matches at one ground across a single weekend. Defending champions Northerns cricket team, Northerns were drawn in Pool B. In Pool C four of the six matches were abandoned due to rain. Under the rules of the tournament, all the matches in that group were declared null and void. Cricket South Africa
Cricket South Africa (CSA) is the governing body for both professional and amateur cricket in South Africa. In 1991, the separate South African Cricket Union and the South African Cricket Board merged to form the United Cricket Board of South Africa (UCB), ending enforced racial separation governance in South African cricket. Sarel Francois Burger (born 13 February 1983) is a Namibian former cricketer. He is a right-handed batsman and a right-arm medium-fast bowler. He played in two One Day Internationals in the Cricket World Cup in 2003. He also participated in List A cricket between 2001 and 2004 and participated in the ICC Trophy in July 2005. His brother Louis Burger played for Namibia in the World Cup, while Bernie Burger has played in the ICC Trophy. Stephan Julian Baard (born 29 April 1992) is a Namibian cricketer. In November 2016, he won the Player's Player of the Year award at Cricket Namibia's annual awards ceremony. In January 2018, he was named in Namibia's squad for the 2018 ICC World Cricket League Division Two tournament. In August 2018, he was named in Namibia's squad for the 2018 Africa T20 Cup. Vaughn Bernard van Jaarsveld (born 2 February 1985) is a South African cricketer who plays for the Dolphins as a left-handed batsman and occasional wicket-keeper. He has represented his country at under-nineteen level. Ruhan Pretorius (born 2 March 1991) is a South African cricketer. Since 2015, he has played cricket in Ireland, and in 2019 moved to Northern Ireland.
