2016 ARCA Racing Series
The 2016 ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards was the 64th season of the ARCA Racing Series. The season began on February 13 with the Lucas Oil 200 driven by General Tire and ended on October 14 with the Kansas 150. Rookie Chase Briscoe, driving the No. 77 for Cunningham Motorsports, won the drivers' championship. Tom Hessert III finished second behind Briscoe in the championship by 535 points. ARCA Racing Series
The ARCA Menards Series is an American stock car series, the premier division of the Automobile Racing Club of America (ARCA). It is considered a minor, semi-professional league of stock car racing, used as a feeder series into the three national touring series of NASCAR, and hosts events at a variety of track types including superspeedways, road courses, and dirt tracks. The series has had a longstanding relationship with NASCAR, including using former NASCAR Cup Series cars, hosting events in the same race weekend such as Daytona Speedweeks, and naming an award after NASCAR founder Bill France, Sr. However, the series was not officially affiliated with NASCAR until its buyout on April 27, 2018. The series was known as the ARCA Permatex SuperCar Series from 1986 until 1991, the ARCA Hooters SuperCar Series from 1993 until 1995, and as the ARCA Bondo/Mar-Hyde Series from 1996 to 2000. Brady Boswell (born April 18, 1997) is an American professional stock car racing driver. Dean (born August 19, 1994) is an American professional stock car racing driver who competes part-time in the ARCA Menards Series, driving the No. 55 and 15 Toyota Camrys for Venturini Motorsports. Will Kimmel III (born May 11, 1988) is an American stock car racing driver. He is the son of Bill Kimmel, Jr. and nephew of Frank Kimmel. He currently competes part-time in the ARCA Menards Series for family-owned Kimmel Racing. He formerly competed in the NASCAR Cup Series for Go Fas Racing. Tanner Delbert Thorson (born May 7, 1996) is an American professional dirt track racing driver. He competes in the United States Auto Club (USAC) and World of Outlaws. Nicole Behar (born November 15, 1997) is an American stock car racing driver. She debuted in NASCAR K&N Pro Series West competition in 2014, driving the No. 33 for her family racing team.
