2015–16 Sultan Qaboos Cup
The 2015–16 Sultan Qaboos Cup is the 43rd edition of the Sultan Qaboos Cup ( ar, كأس السلطان قابوس), the premier knockout tournament for football teams in Oman. The competition began on 23 October 2015 with the Qualification round. Al-Oruba SC were the defending champions, having won their fourth title in 2015. On Saturday 30 April 2016, Saham Club overcame Al-Khaboura SC with a solitary goal victory and to lay their hands on the prestigious Sultan Qaboos Cup trophy only for the second time in the club's history. Saham Club
Saham Club ( ar, نادي صحم) is an Omani sports club based in Saham, Oman. The club is currently playing in the Oman Professional League, top division of Oman Football Association. Their home stadium is Sohar Regional Sports Complex. The stadium is government owned, but they also own their own personal stadium and sports equipments, as well as their own training facilities. History The club was founded on 24 April 1972 and registered on 26 June 2002. The club was promoted to the Omani League after winning the final of 2007-08 First Division League, where the club defeated Al-Shabab Club on penalties. The club caused a major upset when they beat 7-time Sultan Qaboos Cup winners, Dhofar in 2009, receiving their first ever Sultan Qaboos Cup title. Their most recent achievement was in 2013 when they won the first OPL Cup against Al-Seeb Club 3–2 on penalties after the match had ended 0–0 in normal time. Al-Seeb Club
Al-Seeb Club ( ar, نادي السيب; also known locally as ''The Emperor'', or "Master of the Clubs", or simply as Al-Seeb or Seeb Club) is an Omani professional football club based in Al-Seeb, that competes in the Oman Professional League, the top flight of Omani Football. Their home ground is Al-Seeb Stadium. The stadium is government owned, but they also own their own personal stadium and sports equipment, as well as their own training facilities. In 2022, they finished as The Treble with winning the Omani League, Sultan Qaboos Cup and AFC Cup in the same year. Sohar
Sohar ( ar, صُحَار, also Romanized as Suḥār) is the capital and largest city of the Al Batinah North Governorate in Oman. Rustaq ( ar, ٱلرُّسْتَاق, Ar-Rustāq) is a town and ''Wilayah'' (District) in Al Batinah Region of northern Oman. The wilayah is in the Western Hajar Mountains, in the south of the Batinah. Sur, Oman
Sur ( ar, صُوْر, Ṣūr) is the capital city of Ash Sharqiyah South Governorate, and the former capital of Ash Sharqiyah Region in northeastern Oman, on the coast of the Gulf of Oman. Al Nassr Football Club ( ar, نادي النصر السعودي; '' Naṣr'' meaning ''Victory'') is a Saudi Arabian football club based in Riyadh. Formed in 1955, the club plays its home games at the Mrsool Park. Al Buraimi Governorate
Al Buraimi Governorate ( ar, مُحَافَظَة ٱلْبُرَيْمِي, Muḥāfaẓat Al-Buraimī) is one of the 11 governorates of Oman which was split from the Ad Dhahirah Region. Until October 2006, the area was part of Ad Dhahirah Region. At this time, the new governorate was created from the Wilayats (Provinces) of Al Buraymi and Mahdah. A third wilayat, As- Sunaynah, was created from parts of the two. The town of Al-Buraimi is an oasis town in northwestern Oman, on the border of the United Arab Emirates.
