2015–16 Miami Hurricanes Men's Basketball Team
The 2015–16 Miami Hurricanes men's basketball team represented the University of Miami during the 2015–16 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Hurricanes were members of the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC). They were led by fifth year head coach Jim Larrañaga and played their home games at the BankUnited Center on the university's campus in Coral Gables, Florida. They finished the season 27–8, 13–5 in ACC play to finish in a tie for second place. They defeated Virginia Tech in the quarterfinals of the ACC tournament to advance to the semifinals where they lost to Virginia. They received an at-large bid to the NCAA tournament where they defeated Buffalo and Wichita State to advance to the Sweet Sixteen where they lost to eventual national champion Villanova. Jim Larrañaga
James Joseph Larrañaga ( ; born October 2, 1949) is the head men's basketball coach for the University of Miami in Coral Gables, Florida. He has held this position since 2011. Before joining the University of Miami, he served as the head men's basketball coach at American International College from 1977 to 1979, Bowling Green State University from 1986 to 1997, and George Mason University from 1997 to 2011, where he coached the Patriots to 13 consecutive winning seasons and became a media sensation during the Patriots' improbable run to the Final Four of the 2006 NCAA Division I men's basketball tournament. 2015 National Invitation Tournament
The 2015 National Invitation Tournament was a single-elimination tournament of 32 NCAA Division I teams that were not selected to participate in the 2015 NCAA tournament. The annual tournament is being played on campus sites for the first three rounds, with the Final Four and Championship game being held at Madison Square Garden in New York City. The tournament began on Tuesday, March 17 and ended on Thursday, April 2. On February 6, the NCAA announced the 2015 NIT will use a 30-second shot clock (same as its WNIT counterpart) and a 4-foot (1.22 m) restricted-area arc as experimental rules for the 2015 tournament. Ebuka Izundu
Ebuka Rufus Izundu (born 28 June 1996) is a Nigerian professional basketball player for FMP of the Basketball League of Serbia and the Adriatic League. Izundu played college basketball for the Miami Hurricanes. Early life and high school career Izundu was born and brought up in Lagos, Nigeria. He grew up playing soccer and began playing basketball at age 16 due to his height. Izundu played basketball for Victory Christian Center School in Charlotte, North Carolina for two years. Anthony Lawrence II
Anthony Lawrence II (born September 5, 1996) is an American basketball player for the SeaHorses Mikawa of the Japanese B.League. He played college basketball for the University of Miami. Standing at , he plays at the power forward and small forward positions. Early life and college career Lawrence attended Lakewood High School in St. Petersburg, Florida, where he led the team to the Class 5A state championship game as a junior. In sophomore campaign, he averaged 21 points, eight rebounds and four steals. The San Jose State Spartans men's basketball team represents San José State University in NCAA Division I college basketball as a member of the Mountain West Conference. History The SJSU men's basketball team played its first recorded game in 1909. The team has won 10 conference championships, appeared in the NCAA tournament three times, appeared once in the National Invitation Tournament (NIT), and once in the College Basketball Invitational (CBI). Duncanville, Texas
Duncanville is a city in southwest Dallas County, Texas, in the United States. Duncanville's population was 40,706 at the 2020 census. The city is part of the Best Southwest area, which includes Duncanville, Cedar Hill, DeSoto, and Lancaster. Emmanuel Lecomte (born 16 August 1995) is a Belgian basketball player for Hapoel Eilat of the Israeli Basketball Premier League.
