2015–16 Marist Red Foxes Women's Basketball Team
The 2015–16 Marist Red Foxes women's basketball team represented Marist College during the 2015–16 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Red Foxes, led by fourteenth year head coach Brian Giorgis, play their home games at the McCann Arena and were members of the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference. They finished the season 16–16, 14–6 in MAAC play to finish in third place. They advanced to the semifinals of the MAAC women's tournament where they lost to Iona. Brian Giorgis
Brian Giorgis (born May 29, 1955) is the current head coach of the Marist Red Foxes women's basketball program. Giorgis completed his nineteenth season at the helm as head coach in 2021. His 250th career win at Marist, which came in March 2012, coincided with his players notching the Red Foxes' 7th Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference ( MAAC) crown, and their eighth conference crown since 2004. In 2007, Giorgis coached the Red Foxes through two NCAA Tournament victories, thus becoming the first-ever MAAC program to appear in the women's Round of 16. On February 28, 2022, Giorgis announced his retirement, effective after the 2022–23 season. His top assistant Erin Doughty, who played under him at Marist, was designated as his successor. Colonie Central High School is a public high school in the town of Colonie, with the postal address of Albany, New York. In 2005 it had 2225 students and 132 classroom teachers. Loudonville is a hamlet in the town of Colonie, in Albany County, New York, United States. Pomperaug High School (PHS) is a public high school in Southbury, Connecticut. It is part of Regional School District 15 which serves Southbury in addition to Middlebury. History Pomperaug was built in 1979 on the border between Southbury and Middlebury, the two communities which it serves.
