2015–16 Iraq Division One
The 2015–16 Iraq Division One. Al-Hussein ended as champions of the division for the first time in their history, and Al-Bahri were runners-up on the goals scored rule. Both teams were promoted to the 2016–17 Iraqi Premier League. Format League consists of four different stages. The first stage ended in April and the second stage ended in May; both of these rounds consisted of multiple group stages that were based on geographical position. 12 teams qualified for the Elite Stage. The Elite Stage started on June 6 and ended on June 14; it consisted of three groups of four, with the three group winners and the best runner-up reaching the Golden Stage (which starts on 13 July and ends on 19 July). The two top teams in the Golden Stage are promoted to the 2016–17 Iraqi Premier League and the top team is the Iraq Division One champion. Iraq Division One
The Iraq Division One is the second-highest division of the Iraqi football league system after the Premier League. The league is contested by 24 clubs. It is operated by the Iraq Football Association (IFA). Each season, the two top-finishing teams in the Division One are automatically promoted to the Premier League. The four lowest-finishing teams in the Division One are relegated to Division Two. The number of clubs in the league have changed throughout history, most recently in the 2021–22 season when the number of clubs decreased from 28 to 24. It has previously been called the Division Two but has been known as the Division One since 2003. In the 2021–22 season, Al-Hudood won the title and were promoted alongside runners-up Karbalaa. Al-Sinaat Al-Kahrabaiya
Al-Sinaat Al-Kahrabaiya Sport Club ( ar, نادي الصناعات الكهربائية الرياضي, lit=''Electrical Industries SC''), is an Iraqi football team based in Baghdad, that plays in the second tier Iraq Division One. History Al-Sinaat Al-Kahrabaiya Sport Club was founded on 1 August 2009 by Ministry of Industry and Minerals, and was officially registered in the Ministry of Youth and Sports in 2011. Only six years later they qualified to play in the Iraqi Premier League after winning the 2016–17 Iraq Division One as a runner-up under the leadership of coach Kadhim Yousif. The club played in Iraqi Premier League in 2017–18 season for first time, in first season under coach Emad Aoda they were able to finish in 11th place, ahead of major teams that have been playing for many years in the league. 2015–16 Iraq FA Cup
The 2015–16 Iraq FA Cup was the 27th edition of the Iraqi knockout football cup as a clubs-only competition, the main domestic cup in Iraqi football. It was the second edition held after the 2002–03 edition, although the 2012–13 one was abandoned. At first, thirty-nine teams were set to participate in the competition, but after the withdrawals of many of the Iraqi Premier League teams, only days before the second round, clubs including Al-Shorta, Al-Talaba, Al-Hudood, Al-Sinaa, Naft Maysan, Al-Najaf, Zakho, and Al-Kahrabaa, a total of twelve teams from the Iraqi Premier League and nineteen from Iraq Division One ended up participating. It began on 5 October 2015 and ended on 29 May 2016 with the final at the Al-Shaab Stadium in Baghdad. 2015–16 Iraqi Premier League
The 2015–16 Iraqi Premier League (known as the Fuchs Premier League for sponsorship reasons) was the 42nd season of the Iraqi Premier League since its establishment in 1974. The season started on 15 September 2015 and concluded on 22 May 2016. Al-Zawraa won a record 13th Iraqi Premier League title, finishing one point ahead of defending champions Naft Al-Wasat. Al-Zawraa went through all 24 matches without a single defeat: the seventh time that a team has won the league undefeated since the league's inception in 1974. Al-Diwaniya Sport Club () is a football club based in Al Diwaniyah, Al-Qādisiyyah, Iraq, the club was formed in 1965 and plays at the Al-Diwaniya Stadium. Al-Qasim Sport Club ( ar, نادي القاسم الرياضي) is an Iraqi football team based in Al-Qasim City, Babil, that plays in Iraqi Premier League. History Al-Qasim Club was founded in 1973 by a group of young athletes. The team have been in the Iraq Division One for many years and have not been able to qualify for the Premier League due to lack of financial support and lack of a good stadium. In the 2015–16 season, the team strengthened their ranks with good players and was about to qualify for the Premier League, but finished second behind Al-Bahri in Elite Stage, and Al-Bahri qualified. As well as in the 2017–18 season, but they finished second behind Erbil in Final stage, and Erbil qualified. Uday Shehab
Uday Shehab Ahmad ( ar, عدي شهاب احمد; born 14 June 1997) is an Iraqi footballer who plays as a defender for Al-Shorta in the Iraqi Premier League. Club career Shehab started his career with Al-Mosul in the 2011–12 Iraqi Elite League, scoring his first goal as a 15-year old against Samaraa on 29 July 2012. After footballing activity in Mosul stopped due to ISIS, Shehab moved to Karah to compete in the Kurdistan League. He joined Ghaz Al-Shamal in 2016 to compete in the 2015–16 Iraq Division One Elite Stage, however after playing in a match against Brayati his transfer to Ghaz Al-Shamal was deemed illegitimate due to the transfer window having ended and therefore Ghaz Al-Shamal were awarded a 3–0 loss for the match and Shehab was not allowed to play for them anymore. Al-Hussein SC (Baghdad)
Al-Hussein ( ar, نادي الحسين), is an Iraqi football club based in Baghdad. They were crowned champions of the 2015–16 Iraq Division One which promoted them to the Iraqi Premier League for the first time in their history. History Al-Hussein, named after the Imam of Shia Husayn ibn Ali, were founded in 1999 during the reign of Saddam Hussein. Their first participation in the Iraq FA Cup was in the 2002–03 edition when they were in the third division of Iraqi football; they faced Al-Tharthar in Round 1 on September 2, 2002 and the game ended 0–0 with Al-Hussein being knocked out of the competition via penalty shootout.
