2015–16 FC Basel Season
The 2015-16 FC Basel season was the club's 123rd season and their 21st consecutive season in the top flight of Swiss football since their promotion in the 1993-94 season. Basel's 2015-16 Swiss Super League campaign began on July 19 at home against Vaduz. In addition to the Swiss Super League, Basel also participated in the season's Champions League, Europa League, and Swiss Cup. The Swiss Cup (; ; ; ) is a football cup competition that has been organised annually since 1925–26 season by the Swiss Football Association. Massimo Ceccaroni
Massimo Ceccaroni (born 15 August 1968) is a Swiss former professional footballer who played as a defender or midfielder. He played for FC Basel for very nearly his entire career. He was later trainer at amateur club BSC Old Boys and then trainer of the Basel U21 team. Between 2012 and 2020 he was technical manager of the youth department. Thomas Häberli (born 11 April 1974) is a Swiss football manager and former player. He is the current head coach of Swiss Super League side Servette FC. Club career Häberli was born in Lucerne, Switzerland. He played as midfielder or striker. Häberli started his youth football with the local amateur club FC Eschenbach, based in Eschenbach next to his hometown of Ballwil in Central Switzerland. Massimo Colomba
Massimo Colomba (born 24 August 1977) is a Swiss footballer who played as goalkeeper. He is currently the goalkeeper coach of both FC Sion. Career As a child Colomba played in the youth teams of his local side FC Villars-sur-Glâne. In 1995, he moved to Fribourg and played one year for FC Richemond and one for FC Beauregard. Marco Walker (born 2 May 1970) is a Swiss football manager and a former international who played as a defender during the 1980s, 1990s and 2000s. Club career Walker started his youth football with local club FC Bellach. From 1983 with he was with FC Solothurn, FC Grenchen, again Solothurn and Bettlach, before signing his first professional contract in 1988 with FC Grenchen in the second tier of Swiss football. Reto Baumgartner (born 28 April 1967) is a retired Swiss professional footballer who played in the late 1980s and early 1990s as defender. Since FC Basel's AGM in 2008, Baumgartner is a member of the club board of directors and since 16 November 2020, he is president of the club. Bernhard Heusler (born 27 December 1963) is a Swiss businessman, lawyer and former president of the football club FC Basel. Life Heusler studied law at the University of Basel. He was a research assistant to René Rhinow and was awarded his doctorate in law in Basel.
