2015–16 Drexel Dragons Women's Basketball Team
The 2015–16 Drexel Dragons women's basketball team represent Drexel University during the 2015–16 NCAA Division I women's basketball season. The Dragons, led by thirteenth year head coach Denise Dillon, play their home games at the Daskalakis Athletic Center and were members of the Colonial Athletic Association. They finished the season 19–14, 13–5 in CAA play to finish in second place. They advanced to the championship game of the CAA women's tournament where they lost to James Madison. They were invited to the Women's National Invitational Tournament where they lost to Temple in the first round. Denise Dillon
Denise Dillon (born September 22, 1973) is the head women's basketball coach at Villanova Wildcats women's basketball, Villanova, returning to her alma mater from Drexel Dragons women's basketball, Drexel, where she was the program's most successful coach since it moved to Division I in 1982–83. She had been at the helm of the Dragons program since 2003, and was named the 2005, 2009, 2018, and 2020 Colonial Athletic Association, CAA Coach of the Year. Dillon guided the Dragons to the 2009 CAA Championship and a berth in that year's NCAA Women's Division I Basketball Championship, NCAA tournament. The star of that team was Gabriela Mărginean, a junior at the time who would go on to become the all-time scoring leader in the history of Philadelphia area collegiate women's basketball. Lorton is a census-designated place (CDP) in Fairfax County, Virginia, United States. The population was 18,610 as of the 2010 census. History Lorton is named for a village in the Lake District National Park, Cumbria, in England. Joseph Plaskett of the Cumbrian village settled in southern Fairfax County, running a general store and opening the Lorton Valley Post Office on November 11, 1875. Calvert High School is a public high school in Prince Frederick, Maryland, United States and is part of the Calvert County Public Schools. Archbishop John Carroll High School is a four-year secondary school part of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Philadelphia, located in Radnor, Pennsylvania, on a 55-acre campus. History Archbishop John Carroll High School was opened in September 1967. It was officially dedicated and blessed on April 28, 1968. It was originally two separate secondary schools, Archbishop John Carroll for Boys and Archbishop John Carroll for Girls.
