2015–16 Azerbaijan Women's Volleyball Super League
The 2015-16 season of the Azerbaijan Women's Volleyball Super League ( az, Azərbaycan Volleybol Superliqası) was the annual season of the country's highest volleyball level. The League of Azerbaijan began on November 6 and included the Georgian Tbilisi club and an Azerbaijani Junior team. Azerrail Baku won the championship final series 3-0 matches over Telekom Baku and Lokomotiv Baku won the bronze medal. The American Madison Kingdon from Azerrail Baku became league's Most Valuable Player. Volleyball
Volleyball is a team sport in which two teams of six players are separated by a net. Each team tries to score points by grounding a ball on the other team's court under organized rules. It has been a part of the official program of the Summer Olympic Games since Tokyo 1964. Beach volleyball was introduced to the programme at the Atlanta 1996. The adapted version of volleyball at the Summer Paralympic Games is sitting volleyball. The complete set of rules is extensive, but play essentially proceeds as follows: a player on one of the teams begins a 'rally' by serving the ball (tossing or releasing it and then hitting it with a hand or arm), from behind the back boundary line of the court, over the net, and into the receiving team's court. The receiving team must not let the ball be grounded within their court. Valeriya Mammadova
Valeriya Mammadova (née Korotenko, az, Valeriya Məmmədova; born 29 January 1984) is a retired Azerbaijani volleyball player who played as a Libero. She was a member of Azerbaijan women's national volleyball team and was selected as the Best Libero of European Volleyball Championship in 2005 and 2017. Career Born in Baku, Valeriya first played volleyball at age nine and joined the school volleyball team. She played 180 times for the Azerbaijan women's national volleyball team and was awarded the best libero of 2005 Women's European Volleyball Championship. Brenda Castillo
Brenda Castillo (born June 5, 1992, in San Cristóbal) is a volleyball player from the Dominican Republic and plays as a libero. She was a member of the Dominican Republic national team that won fifth place in the 2012 Summer Olympics, while she was named the tournament's Best Libero. She played in the 2014 World Championship reaching also the fifth place and ranking 17th in the 2010 World Championship and the 2011 FIVB World Cup where her national team ranked eight and the 2015 FIVB World Cup, winning the Best Libero individual award and ranking in seventh place. Stephanie Niemer (born September 3, 1989) is a female American volleyballer, playing as an Outside Hitter. Career After three years in Puerto Rico, Stefani Niemer in 2014 traveled for first time in Europe, signing in French ASPTT Mulhouse. Yelyzaveta Samadova-Ruban (born 3 March 1995) is a Ukrainian-born Azerbaijani volleyball player who plays for CSM Lugoj and Azerbaijan women's national volleyball team as an outside spiker. Career Originally from Ukraine, Samadova started her professional career at Rabita Baku in 2014.
