2015 World Championships In Athletics – Men's High Jump
The men's high jump at the 2015 World Championships in Athletics was held at the Beijing National Stadium on 28 and 30 August. In the trials, only nine were able to get over 2.31, so they took perfect to 2.29 to fill out the field. In the final, only seven were able to make 2.29 and at the next height 2.33 they were down to four, Derek Drouin, Bohdan Bondarenko, Zhang Guowei and Mutaz Essa Barshim Mutaz Essa Barshim ( ar, معتز عيسى برشم, Muʿtazz ʿĪsā Baršim; born 24 June 1991) is a Qatari track and field athlete who competes in the high jump and is the current Olympic Champion (2020). Derek Drouin
Derek Drouin (born March 6, 1990) is a Canadian track and field athlete who competes in the high jump. He won gold at the 2016 Summer Olympics, and was the 2015 World Champion. He also won gold at the 2014 Commonwealth Games and the 2015 Pan American Games, and won a silver medal at the 2012 Summer Olympics and a bronze medal at the 2013 World Championships. Drouin was originally awarded the bronze at the 2012 Olympics which was retroactively changed to silver when the original gold medalist Ukhov was stripped of his medal for doping violations. Drouin's personal best jump of , set in 2014, is the Canadian record and ranks him joint eighth on the overall list. In his college career, he was a five-time NCAA Champion in the high jump for the Indiana Hoosiers. Jacques Freitag (born 11 June 1982) is a South African high jumper. He is one of only ten athletes (along with Valerie Adams, Usain Bolt, Veronica Campbell-Brown, Yelena Isinbayeva, Kirani James, Jana Pittman, Dani Samuels, David Storl and Faith Kipyegon) to win world championships at the youth, junior, and senior level of an athletic event. Tim Forsyth (born 17 August 1973 in Mirboo North, Victoria, Australia) is a retired Australian three-time Olympic high jumper: 1992, 1996, and 2000). Forsyth's first success on the international scene came in 1990 with a silver medal at the World Junior Championships. In 1992 a 19-year-old Forsyth won an Olympic bronze medal, equalling his then personal best height of 2.34m. Jan Niklas Patrik Sjöberg (; born 5 January 1965) is a Swedish former high jumper. He broke the world record with in Stockholm on 30 June 1987. This mark is still the European record and ranks him third on the world all-time list behind Javier Sotomayor and Mutaz Essa Barshim. He twice held the world indoor record holder with marks of 2.38 m (1985) and 2.41 m (1987). He was the 1987 World Champion and three-times an Olympic medallist.
