2015 U.S. Classic
The 2015 U.S. Classic, officially the 2015 Secret U.S. Classic, is the 32nd edition of the U.S. Classic and was held on July 25, 2015 at Sears Centre Arena in Chicago. The event served as a qualification event to the 2015 U.S. National Gymnastics Championships, later in August 2015. It was the second event during the 2015 USA Gymnastics elite season. Medalists Event information The 32nd edition of the U.S. Classic, in 2015, was held at the Sears Centre Arena, just outside Chicago, in Hoffman Estates, Illinois. This is the third time it was held at the arena but the event has been held in Chicago since 2010, when it was hosted at the UIC Pavilion. The Junior session started at 13:00pm CT and the Senior session started at 18:30pm CT. Sears Centre Arena
The Now Arena (originally known as the Sears Centre, Sears Centre Arena and stylized as NOW Arena) is a multi-purpose arena in Hoffman Estates, Illinois, a northwest suburb from Chicago, near land which formerly contained the Poplar Creek Music Theater. Since 2016, the arena has been home to the Windy City Bulls, the Chicago Bulls' affiliate in the NBA G League. History The venue was a joint venture between Sears Holdings, Ryan Companies, and the Village of Hoffman Estates. The project began in 1998; however, plans were not finalized until 2005. Construction began in July 2005. The venue opened as Sears Centre on October 26, 2006, with performances by Duran Duran and Bob Dylan. In 2011, the Village of Hoffman Estates took over ownership of the arena after Ryan Companies walked away from the arena due to the arena's lack of success. Aly Raisman
Alexandra Rose Raisman (born May 25, 1994) is a retired American artistic gymnast and two-time Olympian. She was captain of both the 2012 "Fierce Five" and 2016 " Final Five" U.S. women's Olympic gymnastics teams, which won their respective team competitions. At the 2012 Olympics in London, she won gold medals in the team and floor competitions, as well as the bronze medal on the balance beam, making her the most decorated American gymnast at the Games. At the 2016 Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, she won a gold medal in the team event, making her and teammate Gabby Douglas the only Americans with back-to-back team gold medals. Credit Union 1 Arena (previously known as UIC Pavilion) is a multi-purpose arena located at 525 S. Racine Avenue on the Near West Side in Chicago, Illinois, which opened in 1982. Hoffman Estates is a village in Illinois, United States. The village is located primarily in Cook County, with a small section in Kane County. It is a suburb of Chicago. Per the 2020 census, the population was 52,530. The village now serves as the headquarters for Sears and the American headquarters for Mori Seiki. Christina Lydia Desiderio (born August 22, 2000, in New Jersey) is a retired American artistic gymnast. Desiderio was named to the 2015 U.S. Junior National team, after her performances at the 2015 U.S. National Gymnastics Championships. Personal life Christina Lydia Desiderio was born on August 22, 2000, in New Jersey to parents Dominick and Carol (née Noll) Desiderio. She has an older brother, Dominick, who is 2 years older than her, and is a baseball player. She graduated high school a year early. She lives in Hackettstown and commutes over an hour each day to train at Parkettes National Gymnastics Training Center in Allentown. Deanne Soza (born September 24, 2001 in Orem, Utah) is a former American artistic gymnast. Competitive History 2013 Soza competed at the 2013 Secret U.S. Classic, placing 16th all-around. She advanced to Nationals where she accumulated a two-day score of 103.050, placing 26th. 2014 Deanne kicked off the 2014 season finishing 3rd at the American Classic, held at the Karolyi's Ranch. Soza later competed at the Secret U.S. Classic where she placed 3rd with Norah Flatley. She also took home a silver on uneven bars and a bronze on vault. She was expected to compete at the 2014 P&G Championships in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. In September 2014, Deanne contracted a rare eye infection which could have blinded her. Jordan Lucella Elizabeth Chiles (born April 15, 2001) is an American artistic gymnast. She represented the United States at the 2020 Summer Olympics and won a silver medal in the team event. She was a member of the team that won gold at the 2022 World Championships. Individually, she is the 2022 World vault silver medalist and floor silver medalist.
