2015 Texas Longhorns Football Team
The 2015 Texas Longhorns football team, known variously as "Texas", "UT", the "Longhorns", or the "Horns", was a collegiate American football team that represented the University of Texas at Austin as a member of the Big 12 Conference in the 2015 NCAA Division I FBS football season. The team played its home games at Darrell K Royal–Texas Memorial Stadium in Austin, Texas, where the team is based. The Longhorns were led by second-year head coach Charlie Strong. Shawn Watson and Joe Wickline ran the offense. Vance Bedford served as defensive coordinator. They finished the season 5–7, 4–5 in Big 12 play to finish in a three-way tie for fifth place. Charlie Strong
Charles Rene Strong (born August 2, 1960) is an American football coach who is currently the co-defensive coordinator and linebackers coach at the University of Miami. He recently served as the assistant head coach and inside linebackers coach for the Jacksonville Jaguars of the National Football League (NFL) in 2021 and also previously served as a defensive analyst at the University of Alabama in 2020. Strong served as the head coach at the University of South Florida from 2017 to 2019, University of Texas at Austin from 2014 to 2016 and the University of Louisville from 2010 to 2013. Prior to becoming head coach at Louisville, Strong held numerous assistant coaching positions. During his four-year stint at Louisville, he led the Cardinals to a 37–15 record and reached a bowl game each season, including the 2013 Sugar Bowl. The 2014 Arkansas Razorbacks football team represented the University of Arkansas during the 2014 NCAA Division I FBS football season. The Razorbacks played their home games at Donald W. Reynolds Razorback Stadium in Fayetteville and War Memorial Stadium in Little Rock. They competed as a member of the Western Division of the Southeastern Conference. The 2014 Russell Athletic Bowl was a college football bowl game played on December 29, 2014, at Orlando Citrus Bowl Stadium in Orlando, Florida. This was the 25th Russell Athletic Bowl. It was one of the 2014–15 NCAA football bowl games that conclude the 2014 NCAA Division I FBS football season. It was sponsored by the Russell Athletic uniform company. The game featured the Oklahoma Sooners and the Clemson Tigers. Oklahoma placed in a three-way tie for fourth in the Big 12 Conference. Clemson was the runner-up in the Atlantic Division of the Atlantic Coast Conference. Les Koenning Jr. (born February 10, 1959) is an American football coach. During his career, he has served as offensive coordinator for Duke, Houston, Alabama, Texas A&M, South Alabama, Mississippi State, Texas, UAB, and Kansas. He retired in 2020. Bruce Chambers (American Football)
Bruce Chambers is an assistant athletic director at Arlington ISD and an American football coach. He most recently served as an assistant to Charlie Strong at the University of Texas at Austin, and was the only member of the coaching staff retained from Mack Brown's staff. Previously he served as coach at David W. Carter High School in Dallas, Texas. After being dismissed from the staff on December 31, 2014, Chambers was hired by Arlington ISD as assistant athletic director. Chambers played wide receiver at the University of North Texas under Jerry Moore, Bob Tyler and Corky Nelson. He then became coach at Dallas Carter High School, coaching the freshmen and junior varsity before becoming varsity assistant to Freddie James in 1989. The tight end (TE) is a position in American football, arena football, and Canadian football, on the offense. The tight end is often a hybrid position with the characteristics and roles of both an offensive lineman and a wide receiver. Like offensive linemen, they are usually lined up on the offensive line and are large enough to be effective blockers. On the other hand, unlike offensive linemen, they are eligible receivers adept enough to warrant a defense's attention when running pass patterns.
