2015 Spring NA LCS Split
The 2015 NA LCS season was the third year of the North American League of Legends Championship Series, North American ''League of Legends'' Championship Series. It saw an expansion of the league from eight to ten teams, as well as the introduction of championship points and the regional finals gauntlet to better determine which teams should qualify for the League of Legends World Championship, World Championship. The season was divided into spring and summer splits, each consisting of a regular season and playoff stage. The top six teams from the regular season advanced to the playoff stage, with the top two teams receiving a Bye (sports), bye to the semifinals. Regular season games and the spring playoffs were played in the Riot Games Studios in Los Angeles, California, while the summer finals were held at Madison Square Garden. The League Championship Series (LCS) was the top level of professional ''League of Legends'' in the United States and Canada. The esports Sports league, league was run by Riot Games and had anywhere from eight to 10 teams. Each annual season of competition was divided into two splits, spring and summer, which concluded with a double-elimination tournament between the top teams. Gravity Gaming (also known as Team Gravity) was a North American ''League of Legends'' team that competed in the North American League of Legends Championship Series (LCS). The team was originally known as Curse Academy and was the second team of Team Curse. Upon qualifying for the LCS the team was required by league rules to rebrand. The team is based in San Dimas, California and plays games in the NA LCS Studio in Sawtelle, Los Angeles. The Gravity LCS spot was sold in December 2015 to former NBA player Rick Fox, who then rebranded the team as Echo Fox. The 2015 ''League of Legends'' World Championship was an esports tournament for the multiplayer online battle arena video game ''League of Legends''. Aphromoo won the 2018 Spring Split MVP award, the first time a support player had received the title.
