2015 Spikers' Turf
The 2015 Spikers' Turf season was the inaugural season of the men's volleyball league Spikers' Turf, the counterpart of the women's Shakey's V-League. In 2014, the Shakey's V-League introduced a men's division during its 21st conference. The following year, Sports Vision, the organizers of the Shakey's V-League decided to spin-off the men's vision as a separate tournament, giving birth to the Spikers' Turf. Spikers' Turf
The Spikers' Turf is a men's semi-professional volleyball league in the Philippines associated with the Sports Vision Management Group, Inc. (Sports Vision). History The league had its beginnings in 2014, when the Shakey's V-League introduced a men's division during its Shakey's V-League 11th Season Reinforced Open Conference, 21st conference. The following year, Sports Vision decided to spin-off the men's division as a separate league, giving birth to the Spikers' Turf. In late-2016, Sports Vision announced that the league be merged back in the 2017 season with the Shakey's V-League (which was renamed as the Premier Volleyball League; PVL). The men's division in the PVL ended with the 2018 Premier Volleyball League Collegiate Conference, 2018 PVL Collegiate Conference as its final tournament. 2015 SVL Season
The 2015 Shakey's V-League (SVL) season was the twelfth season of the Shakey's V-League (SVL). There were three indoor conferences in the season. Open Conference Tournament Format Preliminaries (PL) Single Round-robin. Top four teams qualify for the semifinals. Semi-finals (SF) The four semi-finalists will compete against each other in a single-round robin phase. * Top two SF teams will compete for GOLD. * Bottom two SF teams will compete for BRONZE. Finals The battle for GOLD and the battle for BRONZE will both follow the best-of-three format. * If the battle for GOLD ends in two matches (2-0), then there will no longer be a Game 3 for either GOLD or Bronze. Marck Jesus Paguirigan Espejo (born March 1, 1997) is a Filipino volleyball athlete currently playing for Incheon Korean Air Jumbos, his first stint in V-League (South Korea). He is a member of the Philippines men's national volleyball team and played collegiate volleyball with Ateneo de Manila University. The PLDT Home Fibr Hitters, or the PLDT Volleyball Club is a professional men's volleyball team owned by PLDT. It was established in 2013 and originally consisted of men's and women's teams. In 2018, the women's team became merged with the Smart Giga Hitters (later renamed PLDT Home Fibr Hitters women's team). The men's team has been playing in the Spikers' Turf since October 2018. A single-elimination, knockout, or sudden death tournament is a type of elimination tournament where the loser of each match-up is immediately eliminated from the tournament. IEM Volley Masters
The Instituto Estetico Manila Volley Masters are a professional men's volleyball team playing in various tournaments, including the Philippine Super Liga (PSL) and the Spikers' Turf. The team is owned by Instituto Estetico Manila, a dental and dermatological clinic. In 2014, the team joined the Philippine Super Liga in its 2014 All-Filipino Conference.
