2015 Speedway Grand Prix Of Poland II
The 2015 Gorzów FIM Speedway Grand Prix of Poland was the eighth race of the 2015 Speedway Grand Prix season. It took place on August 30 at the Edward Jancarz Stadium in Gorzów, Poland. Riders First reserve Peter Kildemand replaced Jarosław Hampel, who had injured himself during the 2015 Speedway World Cup. The Speedway Grand Prix Commission also nominated 2014 winner Bartosz Zmarzlik as the wild card, and Adrian Cyfer and Rafal Karczmarz both as Track Reserves. Results The Grand Prix was won by Matej Žagar, who beat Greg Hancock, Tai Woffinden and wild card Bartosz Zmarzlik in the final. Woffinden had initially top scored with a maximum 15 points during the qualifying rides, however he was beaten by Zmarzlik in the semi-finals and then had to settle for third in the decider. Gorzów Wielkopolski (; german: Landsberg an der Warthe) often abbreviated to Gorzów Wlkp. or simply Gorzów, is a city in western Poland, on the Warta river. Christopher Robert Holder (born 24 September 1987 in Sydney, New South Wales) is an Australian speedway rider currently riding for Lejonen in the Swedish Elitserien and for Apator Toruń in the Polish Speedway Ekstraliga. He became the Australian Individual Speedway Champion in 2008 and followed up with wins in 2010, 2011, 2012, and 2014 (he was runner up in 2009) as well as winning the Australian Under-21 Championship in 2005, 2006, 2007 and 2008. Tomasz Robert Gollob (; born 11 April 1971 in Bydgoszcz, Poland) is a former Polish motorcycle speedway rider. He appeared in every Speedway Grand Prix series between its inaugural season in 1995 and 2013. His brother Jacek is also a speedway rider. Craig William Cook (born 21 May 1987) is a British speedway rider. Career Born in Whitehaven, Cook's speedway career began in 2008. In 2009 Cook won the National League Riders Championship and three years later won the Premier League Riders' Championship. He rode for Peterborough Panthers in 2010.
