2015 SAFF Suzuki Cup
The 2015 SAFF Championship (officially known as the SAFF Suzuki Cup 2015 for sponsorship reasons) was the 11th edition of the SAFF Championship, the biennial international men's football championship of South Asia organized by SAFF. It was held in India from 23 December 2015 to 3 January 2016. Heading into the tournament, Afghanistan were the defending champions of the tournament, with it also being the last time they can officially take part, as they have become members of the newly formed Central Asian Football Association. Originally scheduled to take place in July 2015, monsoon season and schedule congestion led to the tournament being postponed to late December. The tournament saw no participation from Pakistan, who withdrew from the tournament in November 2015 due a dispute within the nation's football federation. Khaibar Amani
Khaibar Amani (Dari: خیبر امانی; born 6 February 1987) is an Afghan football player currently playing for FC Hanau 93. Club career Amani previously has played for Kickers Offenbach, 1. FSV Mainz 05 II, Rot-Weiß Hadamar and TGM SV Jügesheim. Amani joined FC Hanau 93 in May 2018. International career Amani did get called up against Japan. Trivandrum International Stadium
The Sports Hub, Trivandrum, commonly known as Greenfield International Stadium, and formerly known as Trivandrum International Stadium, is a multi-purpose stadium in Kerala, used mainly for cricket. 2003 South Asian Football Federation Gold Cup
The 2003 South Asian Football Federation Gold Cup was held in Dhaka, Bangladesh between 10 January 2003 and 20 January 2003. All matches were played at the Bangabandhu National Stadium. Originally scheduled to be held between 26 January 2002 and 5 February 2002, the tournament was postponed due to the suspension of Bangladesh Football Federation by FIFA. Afghanistan were not in the draw, but were included in the tournament following the recommendation from AFC to do so. It was also Bhutan's first tournament. The final was contested by Bangladesh and the Maldives. Ali Umar had levelled in the second half after Kanchan had given Bangladesh the lead. The match went to penalties and Asraf Lufty had missed from the spot for the Maldives. 2009 SAFF Championship
The 2009 South Asian Football Federation Championship was hosted by Bangladesh from 4 to 13 December 2009. Bangladesh was awarded to host the tournament after the withdrawal of original hosts India. After India's reluctance to host the tournament, in May 2009, at the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Congress in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) president Kazi Salahuddin on his return from the AFC Congress informed that although India were still retaining their status as hosts of the championship, Bangladesh and Nepal had turned in fresh bids in anticipation of staging this prestigious eight-nation meet. A decision was taken at the FIFA Congress in Bahamas in the first week of June but no announcement was officially made. 2005 South Asian Football Federation Gold Cup
The 2005 South Asian Football Federation Cup was the sixth edition of South Asian Football Federation Cup. It was the second time the competition was held in Pakistan. The tournament was played in two cities, Islamabad and Karachi with People's Football Stadium in Karachi hosting group-stages and Jinnah Sports Stadium in Islamabad hosting knock-out rounds and the finals. The tournament started on 7 December and ended on 17 December. India won their fourth title after defeating Bangladesh 2–0 in the finals. Both sides contested the finals in the 1999 edition with India coming out victorious with the same result and Bhaichung Bhutia scored in that finals as well. The 1993 South Asian Association for Regional Co-operation Gold Cup was the 1st South Asian Football Federation Cup, held in Lahore, Pakistan (at Railway Stadium) between 16 July 1993 and 23 July 1993. The India national football team represents India in international football and is governed by the All India Football Federation (AIFF). The team is affiliated to FIFA and Asian Football Confederation (AFC). Indian team, which was once considered one of the best teams in Asia, had its golden era during the 1950s and early 1960s.
