2015 RideLondon–Surrey Classic
The 2015 RideLondon–Surrey Classic (also known as the 2015 Prudential RideLondon–Surrey Classic for sponsorship reasons) was the 3rd running of the RideLondon–Surrey Classic one-day cycling race. It was held on 2 August 2015 as a 1.HC UCI race classifications, category event within the 2015 UCI Europe Tour. The race was won by rider Jempy Drucker in a sprint finish from the remnants of a breakaway group. Mike Teunissen of finished second. The podium was completed by Ben Swift of , who had finished as runner-up in the 2014 RideLondon–Surrey Classic, 2014 edition. 2015 UCI Europe Tour
The 2015 UCI Europe Tour was the eleventh season of the UCI Europe Tour. The 2015 season began on 29 January 2015 with the Vuelta a Mallorca, Trofeo Santanyí-Ses Salines-Campos and ended on 25 October 2015 with the Tour of Aegean. The points leader, based on the cumulative results of previous races, wears the UCI Europe Tour cycling jersey. Tom Van Asbroeck of Belgium is the defending champion of the 2014 UCI Europe Tour. Throughout the season, points are awarded to the top finishers of stages within stage races and the final general classification standings of each of the stages races and one-day events. The quality and complexity of a race also determines how many points are awarded to the top finishers, the higher the UCI rating of a race, the more points are awarded. Yves Lampaert (born 10 April 1991) is a Belgian road racing cyclist, who rides for UCI WorldTeam . Career Lampaert practiced judo from the age of six, earned a black belt, but at the age of 17 started training in cycling. He rode at the 2014 and 2015 UCI Road World Championships. He was named in the startlist for the 2016 Vuelta a España. Lampaert won the 2017 Dwars door Vlaanderen, a local race for him, after he soloed away to the victory after making the race-defining split along with teammate Philippe Gilbert, Alexey Lutsenko from the team, and 's Luke Durbridge. Lampaert attacked with remaining and ultimately won the race by 39 seconds ahead of Gilbert. Moreno Hofland (born 31 August 1991) is a Dutch former professional road bicycle racer, who rode professionally between 2010 and 2021 for the , , and teams. Career In 2014 he took a stage win in Paris–Nice. In May 2015, Hofland gave his team its first victory of the season by winning a bunch sprint on the second stage of the Tour de Yorkshire, taking off some pressure on the organization by media outlets. That season he also won a stage of the Ster ZLM Toer. He then joined in 2017, staying with the team for two seasons and winning the Famenne Ardenne Classic in his first season with the Belgian squad. Hofland then joined in 2019. Fernando Gaviria Rendón (born 19 August 1994) is a Colombian professional road and track racing cyclist, who currently rides for UCI WorldTeam . He is well known as a sprinter. Riding for the Colombian national cycling team, Gaviria came to international attention at the 2015 Tour de San Luis, where he beat former world champion Mark Cavendish in two sprint finishes. His first major Grand Tour wins came at the 2017 Giro d'Italia. He is the brother of track cyclist Juliana Gaviria. Leigh Howard (born 18 October 1989) is an Australian professional Cycle sport, racing cyclist. He qualified for the Tokyo 2020 Olympics in both the Men's Madison and Men's Team Pursuit. Jean-Pierre "Jempy" Drucker (born 3 September 1986) is a retired Luxembourgish professional racing cyclist. Career Fidea (2004–2008) Born in Sandweiler, Drucker signed with in 2004, a team specializing in cyclo-cross, at age 18. He rode with this team for five seasons, winning two elite national cyclo-cross championships. He was selected to represent Luxembourg at the World Road Race Championships in 2008, but failed to finish. Team Differdange (2009–2010) For the 2009 season, Drucker joined . The Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI), the world's governing body in the sport of bicycle racing, classifies races according to a rating scale. The rating is represented by a code made of two or three parts and indicates both the type or style of race (the first part), and its importance or difficulty (the second and third parts, lower being harder).
