2015 Queensland Basketball League Season
The 2015 Men's Queensland Basketball League season was the 30th running of the competition. The Mackay Meteors won the championship in 2015 to claim their third league title. The teams for this season were: Brisbane Capitals, Bundaberg Bulls, Cairns Marlins, Gladstone Port City Power, Gold Coast Rollers, Ipswich Force, Logan Thunder, Mackay Meteors, Northside Wizards, Rockhampton Rockets, South West Metro Pirates, Suncoast Clippers, Toowoomba Mountaineers and Townsville Heat. Queensland Basketball League
NBL1 North, formerly the Queensland Basketball League (QBL), is a semi-professional basketball league in Queensland and Northern Territory, Australia, comprising both a men's and women's competition. In 2020, Basketball Queensland partnered with the National Basketball League (NBL) to bring NBL1 to Queensland. NBL1 replaced the former QBL to create more professional pathways and opportunities for males and females playing basketball in Queensland. As a result, the QBL became the north conference of NBL1. In 2022, the league will expanded into the Northern Territory with a club from Darwin. History The league was formed in 1986 as the Queensland State Basketball League. Maroochydore
Maroochydore ( ) is a coastal town in the Sunshine Coast Region, Queensland, Australia. The town was subdivided from the Cotton Tree reserve by Surveyor Thomas O'Connor in 1903. The land was acquired from William Pettigrew who had a timber depot at what is now Wharf Street. Its name comes from the Yuggera language word ''Muru-kutchi'', meaning red-bill and referring to the black swan, which is commonly seen in the area. Maroochydore is a major commercial area of the Sunshine Coast with most shopping precincts located in the central business district. Erron Maxey
Erron James Maxey (born December 6, 1978) is an American professional basketball player who last played for the Formosa Dreamers of the ASEAN Basketball League (ABL). High school career Maxey attended Temescal Canyon High School for two years where he was a standout for the basketball team. He then transferred to Elsinore High School where he captained the school for two years, winning the league Most Valuable Player award in 1996 and 1997. In 1997, he helped Elsinore to a 23–3 record and a league championship averaging 28.7 points, 14.1 rebounds, 3.5 assists and 4.0 blocks per game individually. He finished his career at Elsinore High School as their all-time leading scorer, and as a senior, won the Riverside County Player of the Year award.
