2015 Portland Thunder Season
The Portland Thunder season was the second season for the arena football franchise in the Arena Football League. The team was coached by Mike Hohensee and played their home games at the Moda Center. The Thunder finished third in the Pacific division and 5–13 for the second straight year, and were also one of two teams to go winless on the road. Despite not qualifying for the playoffs with their win–loss record, because the league elected to cease operations of the Las Vegas Outlaws, who had finished ahead of Portland for the final playoff berth in the National Conference, Portland was awarded a playoff berth in their place. Mike Hohensee
Michael Louis Hohensee (born February 22, 1961) is a former professional football quarterback who played in the United States Football League, Canadian Football League, National Football League and Arena Football League. He most recently the head coach of the AFL's Portland Thunder. He played college football at the University of Minnesota, and was in the AFL for two seasons, from 1987 to 1988. Hohensee has been a head coach since 1990, beginning at the Washington Commandos. He has served as head coach of eight different arena football franchises, winning ArenaBowl XX with the Chicago Rush in 2006. Playing career College In college, Hohensee played for the University of Minnesota. After coming out of junior college at Mt. San Antonio College in Walnut, California, Hohensee quarterbacked the Gophers for two seasons in 1981 and 1982, setting numerous school passing records. V'Keon Lacey (born August 8, 1988) is an American football wide receiver who is currently a free agent. He first enrolled at Cisco College before transferring to the Southwestern Oklahoma State University and lastly Angelo State University. He attended Arlington High School in Arlington, Texas Lacey has also been a member of the Jacksonville Sharks, Cedar Rapids Titans, San Jose SaberCats, Philadelphia Soul and Portland Thunder. Jamar Howard (born September 3, 1987) is an American football wide receiver for the Jacksonville Sharks of the National Arena League (NAL). He played college Football at the University of Cincinnati before transferring to the University of Central Missouri. Duane Brooks (born June 24, 1987) is an American football wide receiver for the Guangzhou Power of the China Arena Football League (CAFL). He played College Football at Stephen F. Kyle Rowley (born January 30, 1979) is an arena football quarterback who is currently a free agent. He also played in the former af2. He played college football at Brown. Rowley was the first quarterback to win an AFL ArenaBowl and af2 ArenaCup Championship, with Nick Davila being the second. Alex Carder
Alex Carder (born October 22, 1989) is an American football quarterback for the West Michigan Ironmen of American Arena League. He was signed as a free agent by the Detroit Lions of the National Football League. He was formerly the starting quarterback at Western Michigan University.
