2015 Philadelphia Cycling Classic
The 2015 Philadelphia Cycling Classic, known as The Parx Casino Philly Cycling Classic for sponsorship purposes, was the sixth round of the 2015 UCI Women's Road World Cup. It was held on June 7, 2015, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, United States. The event had last appeared in the Women's Road World Cup in 2001, as the Liberty Classic. On a six-lap course which climbed the Manayunk Wall – an long climb with an average gradient of 8 percent – at the end of each lap, Jasmin Glaesser () established an early breakaway, leading for two laps before being caught by the peloton. Her breakaway earned her sufficient "Queen of the Mountain" points for her to win that title. Further attacks were made, but none were successful. On the final ascent of Manayunk Wall, Lizzie Armitstead () won in a sprint, beating Elisa Longo Borghini () and Alena Amialiusik (). The 2015 UCI Women's Road World Cup is the 18th and last edition of the UCI Women's Road World Cup and part of the 2015 in women's road cycling, 2015 UCI women's calendar. Alison Jackson (née Farkash; born 14 December 1988) is a Canadian professional racing cyclist, who rides for UCI Women's WorldTeam . In April 2023, Jackson won Paris–Roubaix Femmes, described as the "biggest win of her career". Early life Jackson was born and raised on a bison farm in rural Alberta, the second of three children. Evelyn Lee Stevens (born May 9, 1983) is an American retired professional road bicycle racing, road cyclist. Early life Stevens was born in Claremont, California but grew up in Acton, Massachusetts, where she attended Acton-Boxborough Regional High School. She studied government and women and gender studies at Dartmouth College in New Hampshire and was a member of the college's tennis team. The 2015 Tour of Chongming Island World Cup was a one-day road cycling race, run as part of the ninth Tour of Chongming Island, which included both a multi-stage event and a single-stage event. The single-stage race, which was part of the 2015 UCI Women's Road World Cup, was held on 17 May 2015, in Shanghai, China. On wide, mostly flat highways, there were no significant breakaways in the first half of the race, until the duo of Liang Hongyu () and Anastasia Chulkova () established a one-minute lead over the peloton. Giorgia Bronzini
Giorgia Bronzini (born 3 August 1983) is an Italian former professional racing cyclist, who rode professionally between 2003 and 2017. She won the women's road race in the UCI Road World Championships in both 2010 and 2011 and the women's points race in the UCI Track Cycling World Championships in 2009. Born in Piacenza, Bronzini took a total of 80 victories on the road and the track, including stages of the Giro d'Italia Femminile, La Route de France, the Tour of Qatar, the Tour of California, and the Tour of Chongming Island. After a 16-year career, in August 2018 Bronzini announced that she would retire at the end of the season and become a ''directeur sportif'' with Trek Bicycle Corporation's new women's team, in 2019. The 2015 La Flèche Wallonne Féminine was the 18th edition of the La Flèche Wallonne Féminine one-day List of women's road bicycle races, women's road bicycle race held in Belgium, starting and ending in the town of Huy. The race included two climbs of the Mur de Huy; the finish line was at the top of the second of these ascents. The race was won by Anna van der Breggen (). Van der Breggen attacked at the bottom of the Mur and took a solo victory, 12 seconds ahead of Annemiek van Vleuten (), with Megan Guarnier () a further 8 seconds back in third.
