2015 Michigan Wolverines Softball Team
The 2015 Michigan Wolverines softball team was an American college softball team that represented the University of Michigan during the 2015 NCAA softball season. The Wolverines, led by head coach Carol Hutchins in her thirty-first season, played their home games at Alumni Field in Ann Arbor, Michigan. The Wolverines finished the season with a 60–8 record, including 21–2 in conference play. The Wolverines won the 2015 Big Ten Conference softball tournament and qualified for the NCAA Division I softball tournament. They advanced to the finals of the Women's College World Series for the first time since 2005, where they lost to Florida. Carol Hutchins
Carol Sue Hutchins (born May 26, 1957) is an American former softball coach. In 38 years as the head coach of Michigan Wolverines softball, (1985–2022), she won more games than more than any other coach in University of Michigan history in any sport, male or female with 1,684 wins. Hutchins had a career record of 1,707 wins, 551 losses, and five ties, for a winning percentage. She led the Wolverines to their first NCAA softball championship in 2005. On April 2, 2016, Hutchins became the winningest head coach in NCAA Division I Softball history when Michigan defeated Indiana, passing Margie Wright's record of 1,457 career wins. She reclaimed the record as winningest head coach on February 25, 2022, passing Mike Candrea's record of 1,674. The Hampton Pirates and Lady Pirates refer to the sports teams representing Hampton University in Hampton, Virginia in intercollegiate athletics. The University of South Florida athletic facilities are the stadiums and arenas the South Florida Bulls use for their home games and training. Nikki Nemitz
Nicole Ashley Nemitz (born May 15, 1988) was a volunteer assistant coach for the Michigan Wolverines softball team. She was an All-American pitcher for the team, winning first-team NFCA/Louisville Slugger All-American honors in 2009. Early life Nemitz's left arm made her a star athlete from an early age. Her mother noted that even family walks turned into races between Nemitz and her brother. Her mother recalled, "They used to race from tree to tree. Everything was a competition." Regina High School Nemitz attended Regina High School, a Catholic high school in Harper Woods, Michigan. Nemitz helped lead the Regina Saddlelites to three consecutive Class A Michigan state championships in 2004, 2005 and 2006. Her high school pitching record was 71-2, with an ERA of 0.25. Bonnie Tholl
Bonita Lynn Tholl (born June 30, 1969) is a former Americans, American softball, softball player, who is currently the head coach for the Michigan Wolverines softball team. Softball player After graduating from Victor J. Andrew High School in Tinley Park, Illinois, Tholl played softball at the University of Michigan and started at the position Shortstop from 1988–1991. She led the team in runs for three straight years from 1989-1991 and she also led the team in walks for three seasons (1988, 1989, 1991). She also shares the Big Ten Conference, Big Ten record for fewest strikeouts in a conference season with zero in 1991. Catcher
Catcher is a Baseball positions, position in baseball and softball. When a Batter (baseball), batter takes their at bat, turn to hit, the catcher crouches behind home plate, in front of the (home plate, home) Umpire (baseball), umpire, and receives the ball from the pitcher.
