2015 Men's World Team Squash Championships
The 2015 Men's World Team Squash Championships is the men's edition of the 2015 World Team Squash Championships, which serves as the world team championship for squash players. Courtesy of the World Squash Federation and Egyptian Squash Association, the event was scheduled to take place in Cairo, Egypt from December 12 to December 18, 2015;/photo/1 with short notice, it was postponed in the wake of several team withdrawals arising from security concerns and a bomb attack in the Egyptian capital that resulted in 16 fatalities. On 27 January 2016, the event was formally cancelled; the next edition of the championships will be held in 2017. Gezira Island
Gezira is an island in the Nile, in central Cairo, Egypt. The southern portion of the island contains the Gezira district, and the northern third contains the Zamalek district. Gezira is west of downtown Cairo and Tahrir Square, connected across the Nile by four bridges each on the east and west sides, the Qasr El Nil Bridge, 15 May Bridge, Al-Gala'a Bridge and 6th October Bridge. The 2013 Men's World Team Squash Championships is the men's edition of the 2013 World Team Squash Championships, which serves as the world team championship for squash (sport), squash players. The event was held in Mulhouse, France, from June 9 to June 15, 2013. The tournament is organized by the World Squash Federation and the French Squash Federation. The England men's national squash team, England team won its fifth World Team Championships beating the Egypt men's national squash team, Egyptian team in the final. 2017 Men's World Team Squash Championships
The 2017 Men's World Team Squash Championships was the men's edition of the 2017, which serves as the world team championship for squash players. The event was held in Marseille, France, from November 26 to December 3, 2017. The tournament is organized by the World Squash Federation and the French Squash Federation. The Egyptian team won their fourth World Team Championships after beating England in the final. Since there was no 3rd-place match, Hong Kong and Australia both shared the bronze medal. World Team Squash Championships
The WSF World Team Squash Championships are an international squash competition organised by the World Squash Federation (WSF) and played between teams representing different nations. Countries enter teams of three or four players to represent them in the championships. In each round of the competition, teams face each other in a best-of-three singles matches contest. Squash is a racket-and- ball sport played by two or four players in a four-walled court with a small, hollow, rubber ball. The players alternate in striking the ball with their rackets onto the playable surfaces of the four walls of the court. The World Squash Federation (WSF) is the Sport governing body, international federation for Squash (sport), squash, an indoor racket sport which was formerly called "squash rackets". World Squash Championships
The World Squash Championships are squash events for men and women organised by the Professional Squash Association. The men's event was first held in 1976 in London, England and the women's was inaugurated in 1976 in Brisbane, Australia. Overview The British Open had for many years been generally considered to be the sport's effective world championship, and this continued to be the case until the World Open (now called World Championship) was established. The women's World Championship was held once every two years until the early 1990s, when it became an annual event. The men's event has been held every year since 1976, except for a two-year gap in 2000 and 2001 when it was not held due primarily to difficulties in securing sponsorship.
