2015 Men's NORCECA Volleyball Champions Cup
The 2015 Men's NORCECA Volleyball Champions Cup was the first edition of the tournament, and was held in Detroit, United States from 21 to 23 May 2015. The top two teams qualified for the 2015 FIVB Volleyball Men's World Cup. Canada won the tournament for the first time in its history. FIVB Volleyball Men's World Cup
The FIVB Volleyball Men's World Cup is an international volleyball competition contested by the senior men's national teams of the members of ' (FIVB), the sport's global governing body. Initially the tournament was played in the year following the Olympic Games, except for 1973 when no tournament was held, but since 1991 FIVB Volleyball Men's World Cup, 1991 the World Cup has been awarded in the year preceding the Olympic Games. The current champion is Brazil men's national volleyball team, Brazil, which won its third title at the 2019 FIVB Volleyball Men's World Cup, 2019 tournament. The current format of the competition involves 12 teams, including the automatically qualifying host nation Japan men's national volleyball team, Japan, competing in the tournament phase for the title at venues within the host nation over a period of about two weeks. 2015 NORCECA Women's Champions Cup (Final Four)
The 2015 Women's NORCECA Champions Cup (Final Four) was played from June 5 to June 7 in Havana, Cuba. The Dominican Republic won the tournament and together with Cuba, both qualified for the 2015 FIVB Volleyball Women's World Cup in Japan. Qualification The top four teams from the NORCECA confederation who did not yet qualify for the 2015 FIVB Volleyball Women's World Cup played a single round robin system playoff. The United States did not play because they were already qualified as 2014 World Champions. The next three best NORCECA ranking joined the host country for the tournament. Glenn Hoag
Glenn Hoag is a Canadian professional volleyball coach and former player. The current head coach of Arkas İzmir. Player Hoag played for the Université de Sherbrooke in his university years, before turning pro and playing overseas in Italy and France. Coaching Hoag began his coaching career in 1993 with the University of Sherbrooke. While still at the helm in Sherbrooke, he also began coaching in France, at Paris Volley. His highlight during his tenure in Paris was in 2001 when he coached the team to a Triple Crown victory, winning the French Cup, the French Championship and the European Champions Cup. In 2006, he was employed as the head coach of the Canada men's national volleyball team. Hoag led the team to a 7th-place finish in both, the World Cup and the World Championships, a bronze medal in the 2015 Pan American Games, Canada's first ever NORCECA Championship title, and a berth in the 2016 Summer Olympics. Steven Marshall (volleyball)
Steven James Douglas Marshall (born 23 November 1989) is a Canadian male volleyball player. He is a member of the Canada men's national volleyball team and German club Berlin Volleys. Steven was also a participant in the 2016 Summer Olympics, a gold medallist at the NORCECA Men's Volleyball Championship in 2015, and a bronze medallist at the 2015 Pan American Games. Personal life Steven was born in Abbotsford, British Columbia to parents Robin and David Marshall. Growing up, Steven was a multi-sport athlete, and at the age of 15 he started playing competitive volleyball. Career Steven began his post-secondary volleyball career at Trinity Western University, playing with the Spartans men's volleyball team. Nicholas "Nick" Hoag (born 19 August 1992) is a Canadian male volleyball player. Graham Saxton Vigrass (born 17 June 1989) is a Canadian former professional volleyball player. He was a member of the Canada national team, a participant at the Olympic Games (Rio 2016, Tokyo 2020), and a bronze medallist at the 2017 World League Personal life Vigrass was born in Calgary, Alberta to parents Richard and Sandy Vigrass.
