2015 Men's EuroHockey Nations Championship
The 2015 Men's EuroHockey Championship was the 15th edition of the men's EuroHockey Nations Championship, the biennial international men's field hockey championship of Europe organised by the European Hockey Federation. It was held from 21 to 29 August 2015 in the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, London, England. The Netherlands men's national field hockey team, Netherlands defeated the 2013 Men's EuroHockey Nations Championship, defending champions Germany men's national field hockey team, Germany 6–1 in the final to capture their fourth title, while Ireland men's national field hockey team, Ireland won their first-ever medal by beating the hosts England men's national field hockey team, England 4–2. As the winners, the Netherlands qualified for the Field hockey at the 2016 Summer Olympics – Men's tournament, 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. David Ames (field Hockey)
David Vincent Leslie Ames (born 25 June 1989) is a Northern Irish field hockey player, who plays as a defender or midfielder for Old Georgians and played for the England and Great Britain national teams. He represented Great Britain at the 2016 Summer Olympics, 2020 Summer Olympics and 2024 Summer Olympics. He was a member of the England team that won the bronze medal at the 2017 Men's EuroHockey Nations Championship. He also represented England at the 2018 Men's Hockey World Cup. Nick Catlin
Nicholas Andrew Catlin (born 8 April 1989) is an English field hockey player who plays as a midfielder. He competed at the 2012 Summer Olympics and 2016 Summer Olympics. Biography Catlin is from Marlow, and attended John Hampden Grammar School. Catlin started playing club hockey for Reading, initially as a junior and then senior in 2007. He joined Loughborough Students' the following season in 2008 and made his international debut in 2009 and played in the 2010 Commonwealth Games in Delhi. He had two more spells with Reading, sandwiched by a season playing in Belgium. Mark Gleghorne
Mark Gleghorne (born 19 May 1985) is a field hockey player from Northern Ireland who has represented Ireland, England and Great Britain at international level. He represented Great Britain at the 2016 Summer Olympics. Gleghorne was a member of the England teams that won the bronze medals at the 2014 and 2018 Commonwealth Games and at the 2017 Men's EuroHockey Nations Championship. Samuel Ian Ward (born 24 December 1990), known as Sam Ward, is an English field hockey player who plays as a forward for Old Georgians and the England and Great Britain national teams. He competed at three Olympic Games. Biography Ward played club hockey Leicester, Beeston (3 spells), Loughborough Students. It was while at Beeston that he played for England in the 2014 Men's Hockey Champions Trophy. He left Beeston for Holcombe and was selected for Great Britain at the 2016 Olympic Games. Iain Lewers (born 5 January 1984) is a former field hockey player from Northern Ireland who represented Ireland, England and Great Britain at international level. He represented Great Britain at the 2012 and 2016 Summer Olympics. He was also a member the England teams that won bronze medals at the 2011 Men's EuroHockey Nations Championship and 2014 Commonwealth Games. Christopher Griffiths (born 3 September 1990), known as Chris Griffiths, is an English field hockey player who plays as a forward for Old Georgians and the England and Great Britain national teams. He competed at the 2020 Summer Olympics. Biography Griffiths joined East Grinstead in May 2014 ahead of the 2014–15 season, having previously played for and captained Loughborough Students. David John Condon (born 6 July 1991) is an English field hockey player who plays as a midfielder or forward for Old Georgians and the England and Great Britain national teams. Barry Middleton
Barry John Middleton (born 12 January 1984) is a British field hockey player. He played as a midfielder and forward for England and Great Britain and is the most capped British hockey player in history and captained his country for many years. Middleton was appointed Member of the Order of the British Empire (MBE) in the 2020 New Year Honours for services to hockey. Mink Van Der Weerden
Mink Alphons Louis van der Weerden (; born 19 October 1988) is a Dutch former field hockey player who played as a defender. He started playing hockey at HCAS and has since also played for Oranje Zwart and Oranje-Rood. He joined Rot-Weiss Köln in the summer of 2020. Van der Weerden made his debut for the national team in 2010 and has since played in three Olympic Games, two World Cups and three European Championships. He studies physiotherapy. Billy Bakker
Billy Pierre Bakker (; born 23 November 1988) is a Dutch former field hockey player who played as a midfielder or forward for the Netherlands national team. Bakker scored a total of 65 goals in 236 appearances for the national team from 2009 until 2021. Club career Bakker started playing hockey at age six at Randwijck. When he was 10 years old he moved to Amsterdam, where he made his debut in the first senior team in 2007. In 2012 he became the captain of the team.
