2015 MSBL Season
The 2015 MSBL season was the 27th season of the Men's State Basketball League (SBL). The regular season began on Friday 13 March, with Perry Lakes and Kalamunda hosting East Perth and Mandurah respectively. The 2015 MSBL All-Star Game was played on 1 June at Bendat Basketball Centre – the home of basketball in Western Australia. The regular season ended on Saturday 25 July. The finals began on Friday 31 July and ended on Saturday 29 August, when the Joondalup Wolves defeated the South West Slammers in the MSBL Grand Final. State Basketball League
NBL1 West, formerly the State Basketball League (SBL), is a semi-professional basketball league in Western Australia, comprising both a men's and women's competition. In 2020, Basketball Western Australia partnered with the National Basketball League (NBL) to bring NBL1 to Western Australia. NBL1 replaced the former SBL to create more professional pathways and opportunities for males and females playing basketball in Western Australia. As a result, the SBL became the west conference of NBL1. History The State Basketball League originated in 1972 as the District Competition. East Perth Eagles
East Perth Eagles is an NBL1 West club based in Perth, Western Australia. The club fields a team in both the Men's and Women's NBL1 West. The club is a division of East Perth District Basketball Association (EPDBA), the major administrative basketball organisation in Perth's north eastern suburbs. The Eagles play their home games at Herb Graham Recreation Centre. Club history Background Basketball in East Perth began in 1946 with the formation of the Western Australian Basketball Association. Rhys Vague
Rhys Anthony Vague (born 17 January 1996) is an Australian professional basketball player for the Kagawa Five Arrows of the Japanese B.League. He made his debut for his hometown Perth Wildcats in the NBL as a development player in 2014. After four seasons as a development player, he was elevated to a fully contracted player in 2018. In his six seasons with the Wildcats, he was a part of four championship teams in 2016, 2017, 2019 and 2020. Marshall Brown (basketball, Born 1985)
Marshall D. Brown (born March 11, 1985) is an American former professional basketball player. He played college basketball for the University of Missouri before playing professionally in England, Brazil, Japan, Australia and Ukraine, as well as in the Premier Basketball League and the NBA Development League. High school career Brown attended Lyndon B. Johnson High School in Austin, Texas where he played basketball under head coach Freddy Roland. Floreat, Western Australia
Floreat is a residential suburb west-northwest of the central business district of Perth, the capital of Western Australia. It is bordered on Underwood Avenue, Selby Street, Cromarty Road and Durston Road. It is the head of the Town of Cambridge, which has its municipal offices and library in the suburb. Ben Ettridge
Benjamin James Ettridge (born 15 April 1974) is an Australian basketball coach. Playing career Ettridge competed in the State Basketball League between 1993 and 2004, playing for the Cockburn Cougars (1993–1994), Willetton Tigers (1995–1996), Mandurah Magic (1997–1999; 2002–2004) and Perth Redbacks (2001). Sunday Dech
Sunday Dech (born 1 January 1994) is a South Sudanese-Australian professional basketball player for the Adelaide 36ers of the Australian National Basketball League (NBL). He is a two-time NBL champion with the Perth Wildcats, having won in 2014 and 2019. Dech played NCAA Division II college basketball for the Metro State Roadrunners and Barry Buccaneers. Bennie Lewis III (born June 29, 1987) is an American-Australian professional basketball player for the Waverley Falcons of the NBL1 South. He played college basketball for Benedict College before beginning a successful four-year stint with the Melbourne Tigers in 2009. Ty Harrelson
Ty Harrelson (born September 22, 1980) is an American-Australian former professional basketball player who played the majority of his career in Germany and Australia. Jacob Holmen
Jacob Ervin Holmen (born August 17, 1991) is an American former professional basketball player. He played four years of college basketball for North Texas, but his time on the court was restricted due to injuries, including his senior year where he sat out the entire second half of the season after sustaining a third concussion in just over a year. Upon turning pro, he played in Australia and Bulgaria, making a name for himself in the State Basketball League (SBL). Jarrad Prue
Jarrad Prue (born 11 February 1982) is an Australian former basketball player and current coach. He played 15 seasons with the Lakeside Lightning of the NBL1 West and is considered one of the NBL1 West's all-time best, having earned the title as the league's greatest ever rebounder. Jordan Tyler Swing (born December 31, 1990) is an American professional basketball player for the Birmingham Squadron of the NBA G League.
