2015 La Route De France
The 2015 La Route de France is an elite women's cycling stage race that took place in France between 9 and 15 August. It was the ninth edition of La Route de France. The race was won by Elisa Longo Borghini (), who won two stages including the queen stage to La Planche des Belles Filles. She finished 1' 18" ahead of Amber Neben (), with Claudia Lichtenberg a further eight seconds back in third. The best young rider was Jenelle Crooks (Australia). The mountains classification was won by Tetyana Ryabchenko (). Teams 16 teams were invited to take part in the race. Stages Prologue 9 August 2015 – Enghien-les-Bains to Enghien-les-Bains, ( ITT) The opening prologue was a 3 km loop of left hand bends ideally suited to track cycling specialists. Elisa Longo Borghini
Elisa Longo Borghini (born 10 December 1991) is an Italian professional road cyclist, who rides for UCI Women's WorldTeam . During her career, Longo Borghini has won two bronze medals in the road race at the Summer Olympic Games, taking third-place finishes in Rio de Janeiro and Tokyo. She has also won two bronze medals in the equivalent event at the UCI Road World Championships, doing so in 2012 and 2020. Lucy May van der Haar (née Garner; born 20 September 1994) is a British former professional racing cyclist, who rode professionally between 2013 and 2020 for the , and teams. Van der Haar is a double junior world road race champion, winning in consecutive years, in 2011 and 2012. Career Early life Van der Haar grew up in Cosby, Leicestershire. Her first cycling club was the Leicestershire Road Club. Competing with them from 2004 to 2012, she won many National Awards from both the British Schools Cycling Association and British Cycling. Avon, Seine-et-Marne
Avon () is a commune in the Seine-et-Marne department in the Île-de-France region in north-central France. Geography Avon and Fontainebleau, together with three other smaller communes, form an urban area of 36,713 inhabitants. The two towns share a common boundary, whereas other miscellaneous smaller villages are scattered around in the forest that surrounds them (one of the largest in France). Avon is built between two hills; one of them, known as the Butte Montceau, supports the homonymous neighbourhood, made of small blocks and houses; on the opposite one is built the Fougères neighbourhood, consisting of larger buildings. The rest of the town consists mainly of small houses, in the neighbourhoods of La Vallée and Vieil Avon. Martina Ritter (born 23 September 1982) is an Austrian former racing cyclist. She competed in the 2013 UCI women's road race in Florence. She won the Austrian National Road Race Championships in 2015 and 2017 and she was six times national time trial champion. In October 2017 it was announced that Ritter would ride for in 2018. It was initially announced that Ritter had retired from competition at the end of that year, but she contested the 2019 Gracia–Orlová, finishing ninth overall for an Austrian national team. Lauren Rollin (born 21 November 1990) is an Australian former professional racing cyclist, who rode professionally between 2012 and 2021. A female road cyclist from New South Wales, Australia, Rollin studied a Bachelor of Planning at the University of NSW in Sydney part-time as well as cycling for NSW and Australia at local, interstate and international events. In September 2016 she was announced as part of the squad for 2017. She left the team after one season, joining for the 2018 season. Leah Kirchmann
Leah Kirchmann (born 30 June 1990) is a Canadian racing cyclist, who rides for National Cycling League team Denver Disruptors. She competed in the 2013 UCI women's road race in Florence. At the 2014 Global Relay Canadian Road Championships, held in Lac-Mégantic, Quebec, she won the road race, time trial and the criterium, becoming the first woman to win all three titles in the same year. Career Kirchmann's first sport was cross-country skiing. She continued to compete as a skier until about the age of 18. Kirchmann originally started mountain biking as summer training for ski racing. She turned professional in 2011 with the team. When the team dissolved at the end of 2011, Kirchmann followed director Rachel Heal to the new team in 2012.
