2015 LKL All-Star Game
The annual 2015 LKL All-Star Game, was held on March 29, in Vilnius. The format was different from the previous contests: one team – Amžini Priešininkai – consisted of the best players from the two rivaling teams of Žalgiris and Lietuvos rytas, and the other team – LKL Žvaigždės – consisted of the best players from the rest of the LKL teams. Teams ** Former Žalgiris and Lietuvos rytas members, Grigorij Khizhnyak and Andrius Šležas, respectively, appeared in the game, as a surprise to the spectators. While a member of Žalgiris, Khizhnyak led the EuroLeague in blocks per game, and otherwise led the team in points and rebounds. Šležas represented Lietuvos rytas for 9 seasons, and was known for his three point shooting abilities. For the "LKL Žvaigždės" team, the two late additions were Mindaugas Žukauskas and Martynas Paliukėnas. Lietuvos krepšinio lyga (LKL) (''English'': Lithuanian Basketball League), also known as Betsafe LKL for sponsorship reasons, is the premier professional men's club basketball league in Lithuania. It is composed of 12 teams, and it is a member of the Lithuanian Basketball Federation. The best LKL clubs are also annual participants of the top European-wide basketball competitions, including European professional club basketball system, the top-tier level EuroLeague. On April 22, 1993, the Lietuvos krepšinio asociacija (''English'': Lithuanian Basketball Association) (LKA) was founded. It was the first professional sports organisation in Lithuania. Lietuvos krepšinio lyga was built on the foundation of the LKA. Former basketball player Šarūnas Marčiulionis is named as the founder of the league. Rokas Giedraitis
Rokas Giedraitis (born August 16, 1992) is a Lithuanian professional basketball player for Baskonia of the Liga ACB and the EuroLeague. He plays at the small forward position. Professional career In 2013, Giedraitis was named Finals MVP of the NKL after scoring 26 points and leading his team to title. He then signed with BC Šiauliai club in which his father played his whole career. BC Dzūkija
BC Dzūkija ( lt, Krepšinio klubas Dzūkija) was a basketball club located in Alytus, Lithuania. It was founded in 2012 and participated in the Lietuvos krepšinio lyga (LKL). It was the newest basketball club based in Alytus after BC Alita and BC Alytus were dissolved. The club was bought by Lithuanian businessman Gediminas Žiemelis in June 2022, who formed BC Wolves soon after. History In 2019, the club changed its name to Sintek-Dzūkija for sponsorship reasons. Fedor Dmitriev (born 19 November 1984) is a Russian former professional basketball player. During his playing career, at a height of 2.05 m (6'8 ") tall, he played at the small forward and power forward positions. He was also a member of the senior Russian national team. Alex Oriakhi Jr. (pronounced "Or-e-ah-ki"; born June 21, 1990) is an American professional basketball player for Depiro Rabat Imtarfa of the Maltese Division One Basketball league.
