2015 King Cup
The 2015 King Cup, or The Custodian of The Two Holy Mosques Cup, was the 40th season of King Cup since its establishment in 1957, and the 8th under the current edition. Al-Shabab was the defending champion but was eliminated by Al Taawon in quarter-finals. This season's competition featured a total of 32 teams. 14 teams of Pro league, and 16 teams of 1st Division, and 2 teams qualifying from preliminary stage. The final was held at the King Abdullah Sports City, in Jeddah. Al Hilal won their first title in the current edition and the seventh in total after beating Al Nassr 7–6 on penalties in the final. Kings Cup (Saudi Arabia)
The King Cup (sometimes spelled King's), officially known as The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques' Cup ( ar, كأس خادم الحرمين الشريفين), is the Saudi Arabian football knockout cup competition, run by the Saudi Arabian Football Federation. The cup was created in 1957 and was played until 1990. It was re-launched again in 2007 as ''King's Cup of Champions'', and was played by only the top 6 finishers of the Professional League plus the Crown Prince Cup and Federation Cup winners. Since 2014, it was renamed as ''King's Cup'', the competition returned to its roots by implementing the old format. 153 clubs have taken part in the tournament. Al-Diriyah Club () is a Saudi Arabian football club based in Diriyah. Founded in 1976, the club competes in the MS League , the second tier of Saudi football. Al-Ahli Saudi Football Club ( ar, النادي الأهلي السعودي) is a Saudi Arabian professional football club based in Jeddah, that competes in the second division of Saudi Arabian football, following their relegation from the Saudi Professional League in the 2021–22 season.
