2015 Kenyan Premier League
The 2015 Kenyan Premier League (known as the Tusker Premier League and thereafter the SportPesa Premier League for sponsorship reasons) was the twelfth season of the Kenyan Premier League since it began in 2003, and the 52nd season of top-division football in Kenya since 1963. It began on 21 February and ended on 1 November. Before the beginning of the season, talks with the Football Kenya Federation (FKF) concerning the expansion of the top tier to 18 teams fell through. While the KPL continued with its agenda for the season, the FKF created a parallel top division called the FKF Premier League (FKF PL), consisting of 18 teams. In March, an agreement was reached to maintain, for the 2015 season, the KPL as the top division with the FKF PL as the second tier. Kenyan Premier League
The Kenyan Premier League (KPL), officially known as the FKF Premier League and as the BetKing Premier League (BPL) for sponsorship reasons, is a professional league for men's association football clubs in Kenya. Standing at the top of the Kenyan football league system, the league was formed in 1963 under the Kenya Football Federation but is now controlled by the Football Kenya Federation. It is contested by 18 clubs and operates on a promotion and relegation system with the Kenyan National Super League. Tusker F.C., Tusker are the current champions having won the 2021–22 FKF Premier League, 2021–22 season. Tusker (beer)
Tusker is a beer brand owned by East African Breweries, with over 700,000 hectolitres being sold in Kenya per year. It is also the largest African beer brand in the Diageo group. It is a 4.2% ABV pale lager. The beer's slogan "''Bia yangu, Nchi yangu''" means "My beer, My country" in Kiswahili. History In 1922, Kenya Breweries (now East African Breweries) was formally incorporated as a private limited company. The company's first beer was brewed on 15 December 1922. The first batch was delivered to the Stanley Hotel, where it was met with mixed reactions. 2004–05 Egyptian Premier League
In the 2004–05 Egyptian Premier League, 14 teams participated. The first-placed team was the champion, and qualified to the CAF Champions League 2006 along with the team finishing in second place. The third-placed team qualified to the CAF Confederation Cup. Finally, the bottom three in the league are relegated to play the next season in the second division. Each team played 26 matches from September 2004 to April 2005. Egyptian Premier League
The Egyptian Premier League ( ar, الدوري المصري الممتاز), also known as WE Egyptian Premier League (WE EPL) after the addition of title sponsor WE, is a professional association football league in Egypt and the top level of the Egyptian football league system. The league comprises 18 teams and operates on a system of promotion and relegation with the Egyptian Second Division. Seasons mostly run from August to May. Unlike most other leagues, all games are played all over the week. A perfect season is a sports season, including any requisite playoff portion, in which a team remains and finishes undefeated and untied. 2014 Kenyan National Super League
The 2014 Kenyan National Super League was the inaugural season of the Kenyan National Super League since being established on 10 July 2013, and the 51st second division season since its establishment in 1963. Competition was scheduled to begin on 8 March, but was postponed and instead began a week later on 15 March. A total of 24 teams, divided into 2 zones of 12 teams each, competed for the league, with 22 promoted from FKF Division One, which has since become the third tier of the Kenyan football league system after the introduction of the National Super League, and 2 teams relegated from the Kenyan Premier League. The top two teams from each zone, Kakamega Homeboyz, Nakumatt, Posta Rangers and Shabana, all gained promotion to the Premier League for the 2015 season, which is set to be contested by 18 teams, up from 16 for the 2014 season. Nakuru Top Fry AllStars
The Nakuru AllStars are a Kenyan association football club based in Nakuru. They currently compete in the Nakuru County League the Kenyan Fifth division after their relegation from the National Super League in 2018 and ceding their position in the Division One after suffering financial difficulties. The club was reformed and created as a continuation of the Nakuru AllStars (1961), former Nakuru AllStars, who won the Kenyan Premier League, Kenya National Football League in 1963 and 1969. Nairobi City Stars is an association football club based in Nairobi, Kenya that currently competes in the first tier Kenyan Premier League. History The club was founded in 2003 as World Hope Football Club after a majority of players followed head coach Zedekiah 'Zico' Otieno from relegated Kawangware United.
