2015 Kakkonen
A total of 40 teams will contest the league divided into four groups, Eteläinen (Southern), Pohjoinen (Northern), Läntinen (Western) and Itäinen (Eastern). 29 returning from the 2014 season, two relegated from Ykkönen and nine promoted from Kolmonen. The champion of each group will qualify to promotion matches to decide which two teams get promoted to the Ykkönen. The bottom three teams in each group and the worst seventh-placed will qualify directly for relegation to Kolmonen. Each team will play a total of 27 matches, playing three times against each team of its group. FC Viikingit and JIPPO were relegated from the 2014 Ykkönen, while EIF, MP, PS Kemi and VIFK were promoted to the 2015 Ykkönen. FC Espoo, FC Hämeenlinna, FC Viikkarit, JBK, OLS, PK-37, SC KuFu-98, SOVO and Sporting were relegated from 2014 Kakkonen. Kakkonen
Kakkonen or II divisioona is the third level in the league system of Finnish football and comprises 36 Finnish football teams. The II divisioona was introduced in 1973 and in the mid-1990s became known as the Kakkonen (Finnish for 'Number Two'; sv, Tvåan). Sakari Tukiainen finished the season 2014 as the top goal scorer and setting a new league record with 40 goals for the Kakkonen. Petter Meyer finished the 2015 as the top goal scorer for GrIFK with 23 goals. League structure For the 2012 season the format of the Kakkonen has been changed with the league divided in 4 groups of 10 teams, each representing a geographical area. Oulun Luistinseura
Oulun Luistinseura (or OLS) is a Finnish multi-sports club, based in Oulu. The club has football, bandy, bowling and floorball sections. Football OLS football team was founded in 1941 by clubs bandy players. Throughout the years the club has played mostly in lower divisions, never competing in the highest tier of Finnish football except as a part of short lived merger with OTP called FC Oulu in the early 1990s. Sudet
Sudet (''"Wolves"'' in English) is a sports club from Kouvola, Finland, playing bandy and association football. The club was formed in 1912 and was based firstly in Viipuri (Vyborg), then in Helsinki, before finally moving to Kouvola. Sudet formerly played in the Bandyliiga, the top bandy league in Finland, and has become Finnish champions many times. As of 2014, the club is the reigning national champion in women's bandy. Nurmijärven Jalkapalloseura (abbreviated NJS) is a football club from Nurmijärvi, Finland. The club was formed in 2004 following the amalgamation of Nurmijärven Nateva and FC Nurmijärvi. The club's home ground is at the sports area of Klaukkala (''Klaukkalan urheilualue''). The men's first team currently plays in the Kakkonen (Third tier). Background NJS does not have a long history but the club gained promotion from the Nelonen to the Kolmonen at the end of the 2008 season. Musan Salama
Musan Salama (acronym MuSa) is a football club based in Pori, Finland, currently playing in the Finnish second tier Kakkonen. It was founded in 1960 in the Musa suburb of Pori. Literally, the name of the club means the ″Lightning of Musa″. Musan Salama has mostly played in the Finnish third or fourth levels. In 1999–2001 MuSa made a three-year spell to the second tier Ykkönen, but was relegated after the 2001 season. In 2016 MuSa made it to the promotion play-offs losing to the Helsinki side Gnistan on penalties. Finally, in 2018 MuSa achieved promotion back to the second tier Ykkönen by defeating Kokkola based side GBK in the finals of the promotion playoffs on penalties. Sämst klubb Kaarinan Pojat (abbreviated KaaPo) is a football club from Kaarina in Finland. The club was formed in 1932 and their home ground is at the Kaarinan urheilukenttä. FC Santa Claus is a football club from Rovaniemi, Finland that currently plays in the Nelonen (football), Nelonen, the fifth tier of the Finnish football league system. The club has played as high as the third tier Kakkonen, where they have played a total of 14 seasons. FC Kiisto is a Finnish football club, based in the city of Vaasa. It currently plays in Kolmonen (Third Division). History Vaasan Kiisto was founded in September 1904 in Vaasa Finnish Gymnasiums gym hall, after members of Vaasa Workers Association saw a need for separate Gymnastics and Sports Club. Kiisto started to play football in 1908.
