2015 ITU World Triathlon Series
The 2015 ITU World Triathlon Series is a series of ten World Championship Triathlon events that lead up to a Grand Final held in Chicago. The Series is organised under the auspices of the world governing body of triathlon, the International Triathlon Union (ITU). Calendar The 2015 series visited ten cities around the world. ITU World Triathlon Series
The World Triathlon Championship Series is World Triathlon's annual series of triathlon events used to crown an annual world champion since 2008. There are multiple rounds of competitions culminating in a Grand Final race. Athletes compete head-to-head for points in these races that will determine the overall World Triathlon champion. The elite championship races are held, with one exception, over two distances, the standard or 'Olympic' distance (1.5 km swim, 40 km bike, 10 km run) and the sprint distance (750 m swim, 20 km bike, 5 km run). The ITU (the former name of World Triathlon) world champion between 1989 and 2008 had been decided in a single annual championship race. Since 2018 a mixed relay series has been run in tandem, where national teams compete in mixed team relays for prize money and Olympic qualifying points. Mario Mola
Mario Mola (born 23 February 1990 in Palma de Mallorca), is a Spanish professional triathlete. He is the 2016, 2017 and 2018 ITU World Triathlon Series World Champion. He has placed 19th at the London Olympic Games 2012, 8th at the Rio Olympic Games 2016 and 10th at the Tokyo Olympic Games 2020. In addition to his World Triathlon Series wins, he has placed second and third in 2014 and 2015 ITU World Triathlon Series. Vicky Holland
Vicky Holland (born 12 January 1986) is a British triathlete who is part of the Great Britain and Northern Ireland Olympic team, a 2-time World Mixed Team Champion and the 2018 ITU WTS champion. She was born in Gloucester. She is the first female triathlete to win an Olympic medal for Great Britain, a bronze in 2016. In 2021, she competed in the women's event at the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo, Japan. Holland also competes in Super League Triathlon. Career , Holland is tall and weighs . Sarah True (''née'' Groff, born November 27, 1981) is an American athlete who competes in triathlon. She represented the United States in triathlon in 2012, finishing in fourth place, and at the 2016 Summer Olympics. True is the winner of the 2007 ITU Aquathlon World Championships and finished in second place in the 2014 ITU World Triathlon Series. Andrea Hansen (née Hewitt, born 4 April 1982) is a New Zealand triathlete who placed third at the 2009 ITU Triathlon World Championships and competed at the 2008, 2012, and 2016 Summer Olympics. Dame Flora Jane Duffy (born 30 September 1987) is a Bermuda, Bermudian triathlete. She won a gold medal at the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo, Bermuda's first gold medal. Katie Zaferes (née Hursey) is an American professional triathlete from Hampstead, Maryland. She earned a silver and bronze medal for the United States in the 2020 Tokyo Olympic triathlon held in 2021. She is also the 2019 ITU World Triathlon Series women's champion.
